A lot of people like to ask where I'm from since my Characters are so worldly but allow me to clear any confusion up ^_^
I'm Canadian of British Decent.
Born and Raised in Nova Scotia, The Ocean Province shall always be my home.
So how do I know so much about other places, or why are my characters from other countries than my own?
Well first of Research is a brilliant thing. Also the fact that I have world traveling family members ( My brother is going to New Zealand to Teach... something and My dad has been all over Asia and Europe. It also didn't help that by the time I was 5 I could list of 40 Egyptian gods) Friends are another wonderful Asset, Russia, Germany, France, Egypt, England, Malaysia, Japan, Brazil, I have an expanded Network of contacts. If I need to confirm any sort of detail I go to them.
And well, f**k, Writing about the same place and the same kind of people over and over and over would just get hella boring. Also, living in Canada we're a pretty multicultural country ( minus Quebec). And Like I said. The world fascinates me. I don't see any problem having a character who is Scottish, French, Russian, German, Hebrew, Brazilian or what ever part of the world your characters is from, even if you yourself are not from there <3 Love and embrace the cultures around you.
But just make sure you do your research the last thing you want is for someone of that culture to start ripping into you about some little mistake in how they talk, or their history.
I also hope to some day travel the world myself. It's a fascinating place and I feel such a desire to see it all.
So I hope that helps to clean up the confuse about where I'm from. I like my information to be as accurate as possible when writing about my characters and their origins. It just makes them more believable.
Thaein has no heart and will spend hours ripping yours out if you cross her.
Can no longer draw since my accident. Don't ask me for art.
