Hi! Stumbled across your store and just wanted to say that I really like your name! biggrin
And by the way, I read through a bit of your profile -- you said entomology, not etymology! Entomology is actually the study of insects! You're not the first to do that, though, see this comic pointing out the difference: http://xkcd.com/1012/ It's funny, I'm also pretty into etymology, and also have a friend who is an entomologist! So I'm familiar with both words smile
Soo yeah! Hope you didn't mind my being a jerk and pointing that out! Have a wonderful day! 4laugh
I see. You haven't heard of me. Good. I'd hate to be ostentatious.
As I hope you can see I'm a rather strange person, which I will delightedly and gleefully affirm here. My phrasing can be quite formal, but that's only because that's my automatic go-to reaction, so please don't be too frightened.
I am an endeavoring cellular biologist with hopes to help 'cure' SPI (spinal cord injuries). So basically I am a lab-rat who enjoys spines, human regeneration, and helping people.
I love odd and peculiar words and as such have a habit of looking up the etymology of anything that seems interesting - so far my favourites are abscond, antediluvian, andabraiden. I know, they all start with 'a'. Call me crazy.
My music taste is very diverse and eclectic. I will listen to just about everything but rap and blues, and even those have the odd song I will listen to. Yes, that does mean my music-storing device can and has gone from folk to metal to electronic pop and back to rock. And I love it. I also have this odd love of music-box remixes. So delightfully creepy *sigh*
My array of hobbies include writing novels (I think there's currently 31 books i'm writing...? I've lost track of the number of them. Suffice to say, a LOT are shuffling around in my head. But I actually finished one! Huzzah!) And I don't write that sappy-happy-go-lucky stuff, nor fan-fic, nor oh-god-the-apocalypse-is-coming/here. I write gruesome, bittersweet, off-beat humor books, with no definitive good or bad side, because where's the fun in static, one dimensional charas? I mean, really, have some fun with them.
I have also dabbled in a few trifle sports like soccer and rock-climbing, but my favourite hobby by far is making chainmaille. Yup, you read right. I essentially knit metal together to form armor, because, why not? It's soothing as all get out too.
One last thing I should probably mention: my definition of 'cute' is wildly different than what other people deem cute. My example kind of sucks, but if you play LoL, I think Kog is just the most adorable thing ever. As in I would keep him as a pet and coo over him daily. For the rest of (sane) society, imagine a creepy-crawly from just about any movie and I would call that cute. Because I'm on the shady side of sane, and I love it.
