In the murmuring tumbleweed
Of the subconscious
Tear stained barriers
Glance at the melting world
As if looking down from above
Appreciating the sullen beauty
Yet cursing the unattainable
The unreachable
A ragged traveler coveted by the dark
Yet called endlessly by the other side
A string around his wrist holding him steady
Another so close to dragging him to the depths
And to finally be lost in the wind
A silent shadow gazed unnoticed
Walking step by ravage step
Holding memories as they seeped slowly away
The shuffle of iron clad hearts
On the ever twining road
Path by path the rhythm held with
An evident determination
The stranger and the shadow
One flooding with everlasting ache
The other mourning the dark beat
Being created
They walk on and on without communication
Hidden and revealed all at the same dreadful time
A seemingly never ending adventure
With sudden ends
Slowly disintegrating he looks from the distance
To the creeping shadow and gives a slight nod
And then with a draining sigh is gone
In the world where the sun does shine
An endangered figure smiles
Remembering the forgotten
Salty droplets expressing all that were lost
Yet found with those remaining
Trekking forward
The melody drifting on and on and on
