Montreal is the hub of sights, huh? Okay, I'll definitely do that! No poutine for me though. Don't really like gravy nor cheese on my fries.... sweatdrop
Part of the problem is I haven't really traveled much through Alberta, being only to the few main cities. It depends on what time of year you come I guess:
Fall/Winter you'll want to go to Jasper or Banff - mountains, lakes, skiing/snowboarding, gorgeous sights.
Summer is definitely more of an Edmonton season. During July and February there are so many festivals going on like the Fringe or Heritage days. Great food and great entertainment.
Calgary has a lot of festivals too, and is often refered to having more of a center for entertainment than Edmonton.
Spring/Summer is great for Drumheller. They've got a bit more of the prairies there with some hoodoos that make for great photoshoots.
My Dad always kind of joked that Edmonton is a great place to live, but not visit. There are so many festivals that go on, and even in the rest of Alberta we have the mountains as well as the prairies that have gorgeous sunsets.
No, I haven't ever been, but I want to! It seems like Quebec would be a really nice place to live as well, with so much history sorrounding it.
