I'm Johnny. I also go by my initials, JQ.
I own a BA in broadcasting, emphasis in audio recording/production. Currently studying for an MFA in illustration (emphasis in graphic novels, but also doing general illustration and concept art). Aside that, I have a solo music project in progress, which I'd describe as a blend of shoegaze, post-punk, indie rock, 80's goth, post-black metal, and more.

A bit more about me:
I'm an '03 oldbie. Live outside San Francisco, but consider the city my home. I'm pretty left-wing, also fairly existentialist. I have a wonderful variety of friends, and am open to all people. Despite my sometimes bombastic demeanor in the forums, I'm really friendly and (usually) polite; I love making new friends.

Some of my major interests include:
* Music. Been to more than 100 shows, seen more than 200 bands. I listen to many styles (punk, metal, hip hop, electronic, indie, experimental, etc), but my forte is post-punk and goth (Joy Division, Bauhaus, etc), which I'm an aficionado at.
* Comic books and graphic novels, thanks to my grandpa. I'm *especially* a Batman nerd. Also, really into Sandman, among others.
* Media studies and criticism,(through my broadcasting education) especially with regards to feminism, LGBT, racism, glass ceilings, media control and human rights, and effects on sociology and psychology. (might sound a strange interest, but I had some great professors)
* Video games, though I don't play as much as i used to. My favorite console is Dreamcast.
* Modelling, I model for my fashion design and photography friends

Do you have a site where you put your drawings at all? Slow usually doesn't mean good for me, but I realise I need to slow down as my mind is always working at 100mph.
