"Cruelty of Life"

The clock was ticking,
Before you ever came along.
Your life was running out,
Before you took your first breath.
Time is cruel.

So many deemed insane,
When nobody can understand.
If anyone is too different,
‘They are to be feared.’
The standards for sanity are insane in themselves.

Blood is dripping,
And no one can stall the flow.
‘It wasn’t supposed to happen,’
They all say it was a mistake…
But dead men can’t tell.
