Hello Gaia, it's been a while. I used to be really active on here back in the day, but long story short, I changed my password for security reasons, got too busy to have free time for a while, and by the time I came back to Gaia I had forgotten my brand new password and no longer had the email attached to my account. gonk

I used to be very into Gaia Fishing when I was here before (for what it's worth, I caught the first Diamondback Lion reported in Tiranaki's rare fish thread), but I haven't really gotten back into it yet. "Yet" perhaps being the key word though. pirate I've mostly been using Gaia for zOMG lately. I'm still trying to catch up to where I would be if I hadn't been cut off from Gaia when zOMG was still just a rumor.


Online Romance Success Story
Oddly enough, the primary reason for my prolonged absence from Gaia is actually that I had been growing closer to one of its users- Durotos - to whom I am now married. I'll be the first to say that we're the exception rather than the rule, but I always have something to say whenever I hear someone say that either online or long-distance relationships never work. These past few years have been rather hectic, but I wouldn't trade them for anything.

IRL
For the past year and a quarter, my wife and I have been innkeepers at a bed and breakfast in upper-LP Michigan, and it's been quite the experience. As I'm writing this though, we've got less than a week left before we leave this job for good. Partly due to this experience, I've gone from being a scrambled-eggs-only cook to being repeatedly asked if I have a professional culinary background (which I don't) in just a few years. We're planning on trying to start a bakery and/or a catering business once we're done with our current obligations and have time to settle down a bit.

Video Games!
I'm nearly a lifelong gamer, starting back in the good ol' days with the VIC-20. Although my tastes in games and genres has changed quite a few times along the way since then, I still enjoy the hobby as much as ever. I've considered entering a video game related profession on a number of occasions, but I often feel like I'm being called elsewhere. That may yet change though.

Despite having been accused of video game addiction (I can quit whenever I want, I just don't want to! xd ), I always manage to be about a generation behind as far as consoles are concerned, and often more than one with PC requirements. I've always lamented this fact, but after the last few years of new-gen systems, the only one I really plan on changing any time soon is the PC. The exception has always been with Nintendo handhelds, although the release of the 3DS has put me behind the curve for now.
