Thanks for the advice on the penny dreadful! I am enjoying it quite a bit more than I probably ought to, though I'm only about halfway through it right now. I have to say that I was deeply curious as to how the vampire could possibly turn up as a sympathetic character given his introduction. Quite worth it to see how that comes about!

It felt a bit watered don writing-wise (the wording, mostly; pretty short, about the reading/concept difficulty of middle school, etc.) but it was still genuinely scary in some parts. Man, the description of that lake-lily-cannibal-guy-monster still creeps up on me sometimes...I picked it up because it had Guillermo del Toro's name in it, and then HOT DAMN
nice illustration, too. I really need to buy myself a copy.
Anyway.
Nice to see it has your seal of approval! and now when I see you in the forums, I'll briefly revert to my weird girlcrush on the one-legged gruff guy. Thanks for that.
