About

I am a biochemist with a passion for writing and a serious dislike for lab work. I am a slam poet and an organizer. I enjoy sarcastic misogyny, video games and sammiches. I am an extrovert. Or a puppy. Either way.

As a biochemist, I am interested in nutrition and health policy. Specifically, I'm interested in macromolecule biochemistry in the context of obesity, diabetes and celiac's. I am also interested in DNA and am currently working on cloning serotonin receptors in sea slugs.

As a writer, I am interested in strong, dynamic characters and fantastic settings, be them dark, dangerous forests or deep space. As a poet, I write exclusively about my personal experiences, generally through the lens of science and geek culture. I particularly like writing poetry about how I am not a poet. That's one of my favorite topics right there.
