River Tam is the teenage sister of Dr. Simon Tam, both of whom take refuge aboard Malcolm Reynolds' Firefly-class transport ship known as Serenity. She is considered a child prodigy, intelligent beyond her years and athletically gifted. After intense experimentation by Dr. Mathias on behalf of the Parliament (the Alliance ruling body), River was partially transformed into a mentally unstable psychic weapon intended for secret governmental use. She was rescued at great cost by her brother Simon but tracked relentlessly by several agents of the Alliance, primarily Lawrence Dobson, two blue-gloved men, McGinnis, the bounty hunter Jubal Early, and finally the Operative. Almost all of her time on the lam was spent with the crew of the Serenity, which became her extended family.

Kurt is Catholic, so it came as no surprise that he would be compared to a preacher. He doesn't know anyone on this ship, or even what he was doing on this ship in the first place. So out of curiosity, he followed River. At a respectable distance of course.

Kurt was not good with mechanics, but he was also not good with watching others die, or freezing to death for that matter. He sighed, "Nein, I am not. But we can think of something. We;ll think of a way to fix the ship."

Kurt would sigh. Freeze to death or smother, it seemed either way they would die.
But he wasn't going to let that happen. As an X-Man, it was his duty to help those in need. Protect others from death. Mutant or not, he will help anyone who would let him.
"We can't lose hope.. We have to try.." He would say in a low voice, trying to convince himself more than anything.
He has a tail. He can do anythang. cx

"I can understand that." He smiled sympathetically. A lot of people had tried capturing him in the past, wanting to dissect him like some sort of animal and study his mutant DNA. The look he received from her was normal for him - he was used to people judging him by his appearance, therefore it didn't bother him.
His tail waved slowly behind him. "It is peaceful - anyone is safe here. Mutant or not." His head tilted curiously, "Your brother?"
