My "about me" portion of any site always tends to come off as annoying, or plain stupid. I can never think of anything to say. I'm a perfectionist, so I obsess over it, and try to make it sound as good as possible, in the end, having the result over-thought and stupid. It seems as if I don't take myself seriously. So, to be forewarned, you may perceive me as a someone that is not what I am in truth. So, just talk to me a bit if you actually want to know who I am. An about me is just words from someone trying to convince you of who they want you to think they are, and it's unlikely what you read is ever completely sincere.

With that mentioned, please read on to my about me.

I'm a pretty pleasant person, if you can overlook my dark mindset and my tendancy to not think before I speak. I always tend to offend. It's a curse. Labels suck, but they allow for a more intelligible and a quicker way of expressing what you're trying to say, so I'll say it flat out. - People call me "goth", and with understandable reason. I love the "goth" style, I'm normally dark, personality-wise, and I appreciate morbid, grotesque or dark concepts.
I'm also a bit of a nonconformist. Don't confuse this with anti-conformist. I don't go out of my way to not like popular things...it's just a coincidence that most things that are popular happen to REALLY suck a**, to me. Popular anime = usually sucks. Popular music = usually sucks...etc.
I do, however, take note of how society brainwashes you into feeling certain ways about things, forming your morals, likes, and comforts FOR you, and I try to avoid this happening to me...which is technically impossible. smilies/icon_sweatdrop.gif

Did you know the longest word in the English dictionary is Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis??? lol

I'm a pretty lonely person. Not in an emo way, but in a...everyone hates my personality so it's hard to make friends sorta way. lol

I love learning things. That's why I ask a s**t load of questions, even little ones that seem unnecessary. The only dumb question is the one not asked. :3 My mind is one of the only things I like about myself. I like to think I'm pretty intelligent/philosophical. There's nothing wrong with knowing that, is there?

I get angry at someone who is ignorant about something and doesn't ask about it. If I'm talking to you, and I say something you don't understand, please ask about it. I don't wanna be talking to myself. This happens a lot.
My drive for knowledge brings about the fact that I'm obsessed with religion. I love learning new things about ANY religion. (even though I don't seem the type). I don't care what religion you are, I love learning about different beliefs so I can base them on my own. Satanic, Christian, Buddhist, I don't care, let's discuss it.

I have a beautiful 4 year old baby girl named Chloe. You can check out her pics on my photos. (scroll down) She is so awesome. We play video games together, and she's a little metal-head. I know I had her young, but that's irrelevant. I've raised an amazing little girl.
I'm no longer with her...other parent... (single and looking. lol) We don't exactly get along. lol GO LOOK AT CHLOE'S PICS...Or not...if you don't, you hate babies...And for every pic of Chloe you don't look at, God kills a kitten...And then you also hate kittens...you're a horrible person...

I'll pretty much get along with anyone as long as they have some form of intelligence and aren't close-minded. Just be kewl with me, and you'll get the same kewlness in return.

I guess that's it. I always put too much in these "about me" things. If you actually read this whole thing, I guess thanks.

Stereotype Rant

We, as people, like to give things names. We give each other names. Products have names. Shows have names. Movies? Names. Songs? Names. Types of literature/movies/interest-based media are called "genres". All the different genres have names, like "Spaghetti Western" or "Romantic Comedy". There's even the dreaded, questionable "dramedy".

We name things because without a name, what the ******** are you going to call it? Granted, it's possible that we could go out of our way to describe a romantic comedy as "a funny, lighthearted film that focuses on trial-and-error romantic interactions and showcases the tried and true die-hard habits of the genre, making it a solid, riskless choice for seeing on a first date", but why would you when you can just say "romantic comedy"?

This convenience and the need to simplify language is the root of labels. It just makes sense. It is easier and more efficient to say "that goth kid" than "that kid who wears white pancake makeup, black lipstick, and thinks dressing like The Crow makes him the most awesome human being alive, did I mention that he's got a moral superiority complex?".

Simply put, if you have got a problem with having a label attributed to you, 98% of the time, you need to stop displaying the traits associated with that label so prominently. Your peers do not have a responsibility to get familiar with every nuance of your personality and inner spiritual bull before they judge you. If it is made of paper, has newsprint, and is folded in a brimmed triangle on someone's head, it's probably a newspaper hat, yes? That is what your peers are thinking when they make a quick "judgement pass". Humans are prone to categorizing things, because it makes communication and thought much simpler.

If there is a problem, it's not with labels existing, it's with the inaccuracy or inconsistency of "youth culture" labels, like "emo" or "goth". I can see being upset with being called emo if you are very obviously not emo, for instance, to somebody familiar with the subculture. I personally get frustrated when I see people call kids who are essentially goth-lite "emo", and call emo/fashionxcore kids "scene" without being at all aware of whether they support local musicians and go to local shows or not, which is what constitutes membership in what we commonly refer to as "the scene". And the inaccuracy in what most people think goth is, or the categories of goth. Wearing the "Hot Topic" styles of clothing do not make you goth, they make you industrial, or industrial goth. And neither does it have anything to do with religion. Real, traditional goths don't always dress particularly, anyway, they just have a sense for the beauty in dark things. I wish there was a way to get a whole bunch of people intimately familiar with each subculture together and publicly define the meaning of each term so people would not be categorized incorrectly all the damn time.

It's mature to accept that you've been labeled. In most cases, if you were not seeking something that was easily defined, you would not have adopted the traits associated with that easily definable thing.

To be fair that is what makes it hard to rate the newer games. I agree they aren't bad and I can't say I hate them either. But that said, they are different enough to strain the precedents set in the earlier games. So for the old-school Silent Hill 1 purists in particular, Shattered Memories was really hard to swallow because it was so different. Comparing the storylines on the two was a real head-scratcher. xd
Set aside though, the likes of Homecoming, Origins etc. were and still are good games. But Silent Hill 4 was unintentionally funny in some ways. Running around with candles to chase scaries from your apartment, for example. Lol.
I would have to agree on Silent Hill 2 though, I always thought that game was the interesting and engaging.
Sorry, I went off on a tangent there. -Scratches head-

So you should be. That is a pretty damn accurate Pyramid Head. wink
Sure am. Or at least the games where Team Silent were still in on the act.
You've got to be a fan also. What's your favourite game in the series?
