Unusual Features : Black eyeballs
Known Powers :
Molecular Acceleration: Remy has the power to take the potential energy stored in an object and convert it to kinetic energy thus “charging” that item with explosive results. He prefers to charge smaller objects, such as his ever-present playing cards, as the time required to charge them is greatly reduced and they are much easier for him to throw. The only real limitation to this ability is the time required to charge the object. The larger it is the more time it takes. Most charging takes place through direct skin contact. The power of his explosions is dependent on the mass of the object he is charging, for example, a charged playing card explodes with the force of a grenade. Gambit can also use his powers to accelerate an object's kinetic energy instead of converting its potential energy, for example, he can charge his bo staff with enough power to level a house.
Enhanced Agility: Gambit's ability to tap energy also grants him superhuman agility and dexterity which gives him an added edge he has used to his advantage by developing a unique acrobatic fighting style.
Static Interference: Ability to create static, because of the charged potential energy always in his body, that shields his mind from detection and intrusion by even the most powerful telepaths. The shield has the added effect of destabilizing touch based powers.
Hypnotic Charm: Ability to "charge" the kinetic energy within a person's brain, allowing a subtle influence over any sentient mind. This power allows Gambit to compel others to believe what he says and agree with anything he suggests. More powerful minds have proven immune to Gambit's charm.
Toxic Transmutation: As Death, he has the ability to convert inert materials into toxic substances; for example, transforming breathable air into poisonous gases.
Former Powers :
Total Kinetic Control: Gambit was temporarily given his full potential to battle his counterpart New Son. At his full power Gambit can control all aspects of kinetic energy up to even the molecular level, allowing him to fire energy blasts, defy gravity, heal wounds, charge objects within his line of sight without contact, additionally he can charge organic matter, blowing it up just by thinking about it and effectively exist as energy. He can also manipulate the potency of the energy release. He had the power necessary to cause another being to be unable to move or unable to stop if in motion. He was able to cause or simulate various energies by manipulating the kinetic energy present, such as infrared and microwaves by increasing molecular agitation, or cold by reducing it.
Precognition: Gambit was temporarily blinded due to a card in his hand being hit and exploding. During this period, he was able to 'see' images in his cards. Considering he has met a person with a similar ability, perhaps this was a learned skill rather than a quirk of his mutant powers.
Bilingual: he is fluent in English and Cajun French.
Expert Marksman: he is profound in throwing small objects such as cards, bolas, knives, and balls with great accuracy.
Master Combatant: though not on the same level as Captain America, he is still a profound fighter often employing martial arts, street fighting, and acrobatics. He is well adept in martial arts Savate, French kickboxing, and Bojutsu, the art of using a Bo staff.
Equipment : Gambit's guild costume is armored, providing better protection than a normal X-Men uniform.
Accessories : Gambit usually employs throwing spikes and playing cards. He also often uses a telescoping bo-staff.
Common Enemies: Apocalypse, Blob, Brotherhood of Mutants, Hellfire Club, Juggernaut, Legion, Magneto I, Master Mold, Mr. Sinister, Mystique, Onslaught, Proteus, Pyro, Sabretooth, Sentinels, Silver Samurai, Stryfe, Toad, X-Cutioner
Cal's lips parted in a smile that she used to suppress the uncomfortable laugh in her throat. Her cheeks pinkened in the sheltering fall of her hair, and she tipped her head more into his hand so he felt the heat of the blush. She could forget easily that she was all of 22, a baby in the world. So much hurt and toil in her past had aged her quickly, and she felt more than barely legal to drink. But there was something else as well. Something that he had done. Cal was the first to admit that her experience with men was terrible, apart from the two men who meant the world to her. One was Magneto - Erik Lensherr - who was friend and mentor to the lost girl who returned from Ireland alone and frightened. Most if not all of her relations had disowned her or would not have approved of what she had become, so she had left them ignorant of her return. The other was Remy himself. His friendship, his time, and the chemistry between them had turned her into something more than a girl. More than a mutant. She was someone in his eyes. Someone dear and important. She didn't know who else he had snared with those diablo eyes of his, or who else he had taken under his wing. When he looked at her, she was the only person in the world. She put her hand to his chest and stroked her thumb over his stubbled cheek and his bottom lip in a slow movement that was as much exploration as loving contact. Cal gathered her wits once more and smiled a little less shyly. "Surely you can figure out my meaning," she sad softly, though not so much so that it was lost to the wind and cold. "I'm not nearly as innocent as I appear, you remember. If I have to tell you bluntly, though, I will."
Little did he know, Anna had only a couple of hours before seeing him injected a serum into herself that would render her powerless for twenty-four hours. One day. Before planting her left hand against the hard planes of his chest, she pulled the glove from her right hand and let it fall to the ground below. For once in her life since her powers manifested she could touch him, without causing either of them any pain or discomfort, and she couldn't wait to have her hands all over him. She didn't tell him what she'd done to her powers, and she wouldn't. Talking is all Anna ever did, she wanted to show him. Shortly after she brought her hand up to his cheek she hesitated, her hand only mere inches from his skin. Anna still hadn't tested this serum, all she could do for now was hope. Anna shook the fear from her mind and gently pressed her palm against his cheek. With her eyes closed tightly she stood close, but very still. Her powers weren't there.. Exactly what she'd hoped for! Anna could touch him without hurting him. "Remy.."
Anna could feel the small hairs on her neck stand up as he called her 'cheri'. He didn't know, but she loved how it sounded, and it only sounded right coming from him. "Ya could be a mind reader, well.. only mah mind. but it's a mind ta read nonetheless. Alls ya need.. is a lil touch.." While lifting her hand she tugged her glove off and held her hand out, even though she was fully aware he'd likely decline.
Letting her head rest against his shoulder a moment, she nodded and looked up. "Sounds good. I'm starting to feel like a Scorpio-sicle." She stretched her legs and rolled up onto her knees, turning her head in the process to look at him. "I live up there," she added, gesturing with her head up a small rise to the house nestled among the tall grass. Cal had given up much of her old life after realizing the futility of fighting her own kind. It was politics, no matter the way she looked at it. Mutants and humans weren't that different, and she had resigned her participation with any organized team. X-Men or Brotherhood, she would now call herself mercenary until she found reason to change it. She wanted nothing more now than a happy life. Cal rolled to her feet, dropped a kiss on his cheek, and held out her hand to Gambit. "Well, come along, dear. I'll make something warm to chase away the cold. Unless...." she added with a side-long look and a small smirk, "you can think of another way."
