Known Powers :
Molecular Acceleration: Remy has the power to take the potential energy stored in an object and convert it to kinetic energy thus “charging” that item with explosive results. He prefers to charge smaller objects, such as his ever-present playing cards, as the time required to charge them is greatly reduced and they are much easier for him to throw. The only real limitation to this ability is the time required to charge the object. The larger it is the more time it takes. He can charge a rock as big as a small house in the matter of seconds. Most charging takes place through direct skin contact. The power of his explosions is dependent on the mass of the object he is charging, for example, a charged playing card explodes with the force of a grenade. Gambit can also use his powers to accelerate an object's kinetic energy instead of converting its potential energy, for example, he can charge his bo staff with enough power to level a house.
Static Interference: Ability to create static, because of the charged potential energy always in his body, that shields his mind from detection from telepaths. Although reportedly uncomfortable for the parties involved, this shield does not prevent telepathic invasion as suggested and shown on a few occasions.
Enhanced Agility: Gambit's ability to tap energy also grants him superhuman agility and dexterity which gives him an added edge he has used to his advantage by developing a unique acrobatic fighting style.
Hypnotic Charm: Ability to "charge" the kinetic energy within a person's brain, allowing a subtle influence over any sentient mind. This power allows Gambit to compel others to believe what he says and agree with anything he suggests. More powerful minds have proven immune to Gambit's charm.
Toxic Transmutation: As Death, he has the ability to convert inert materials into toxic substances; for example, transforming breathable air into poisonous gases.
Corruption: When reverting to Death in Limbo, Gambit displayed the ability to corrupt other creatures and subvert them to his will. When used on Northstar and Dazzler they began resembling him, gaining pitch-black skin and white hair.
Bilingual: He is fluent in English and Cajun French. He also knows some Japanese (not very fluent).
Expert Marksman: He is extremely skilled in throwing small objects such as cards, bolas, knives, and balls with great accuracy.
Master Combatant: Though not on the same level as the likes of Captain America, he is still a profound fighter, often employing martial arts, street fighting, and acrobatics. He is well adept in the martial arts Savate (French kickboxing), and Bojutsu, the art of using a Bo staff. Nick Fury even referred to Gambit as "One of the best hand to hand fighters I've ever seen".
Strength level Gambit is a mutant who possesses the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engages in intense regular exercise.
Weaknesses Gambit's powers have no effect on anything unless he touches it. Gambit's eyes are extremely sensitive to light.
Equipment Gambit's guild costume is armored, providing better protection than a normal X-Men uniform.
Transportation The X-Men's Blackbird
Weapons Gambit usually employs throwing spikes and playing cards. He also often uses a telescoping bo-staff. At some point, he made himself a copy of the Rifle he had during his time in Fortress X.

"Well, you're not going to snag me and drag me off into the dark," Devon replied, her eyes taking on a sharpness belying her age. "That would be supremely stupid, and you don't strike me as a stupid man. Goodlooking and mysterious, certainly, but not stupid. But if you're waiting for someone, I shouldn't keep you. Quel est votre nom, étranger?" Unintimidated by his height and stature, she looked up at him with sparkling brown eyes and hair fluttering as the alley breathed a breeze out across her face. "By the way... if your date doesn't show up, would you be enough of a gentleman to not let a lady spend the evening alone?" She smiled, deciding that a little flirting wouldn't be amiss. Why not? It was a little harmless fun, and nothing had to come of it if nothing did.
Her heart slowed after beating so rapidly, as if it were the calm after the storm. Anna had lived a lifetime and never once had a kiss last so long, she was never able to control her powers this well before. It was only after the second kiss that Anna would hesitantly break the kiss and keep her face close to his, as if she were sort of cuddling. A few minutes ticked by and her heart and mind were settled, no longer conflicted about her choice. "It's been so long.. Ah've almost forgotten what its like ta kiss you.." With her head still close to his, she placed her left hand on his right cheek gently. "Ah've missed it.. Ah've missed you Remy.."
Her ears pricked up at the sound of the striking match, and the sulfur wafting up from the street made her look down to find the source. She wavered on the edge of balance for only a second before her hands moved down to the flat plane of the building she had perched on. They gripped the tiny cracks and ridges in the stone as surely as a ladder rungs. She looked down into the street, watching the wisps of smoke rise from the lone figure's cigarette. He was conspicuous - at least from her position - in his stillness. Her attention piqued, the blonde girl swung her legs up over her head, released the wall, and landed with the clatter of her boots on the balcony. She glanced briefly around to see if anyone had observed her, then she slid down the fire escape ladder. At the end of the ladder, she jumped the last foot and dusted her knees off before she walked out of the alley. The ring of light she stepped into was thrown by the man's lamp. "You know, I can't decide if you're genuinely waiting for someone, or if you decided to prop up this particular lamp post because you know you class it up considerably." Her brown eyes swept him casually from head to foot before settling on his face. His red-on-black eyes didn't phase her, but she made a mental note of them; even where she went, such features in an otherwise human face were rare. She smiled. "You see, I pride myself in being able to read people, and you've actually stumped me. I couldn't leave without trying to take your measure. So, are you waiting for someone, or are you hoping to draw someone in with the sexy mysterious figure pose?"
During the Cajun's rant about how she's not Professor X, and not Jean Grey, Emma couldn't help but to tune those parts out. She was tired of everyone complaining and whining about who she wasn't, and never focused on who she is. The constant comparing to Jean caused Emma great irritation, just that redheads name burnt Emma's insides. The only other woman to hold Scott's heart. He did have a few valid points about how she shouldn't poke around in his head though the only thing Emma went searching for was any information involving Rogue. Gambit had this habit of getting Rogue into trouble. Emma was only looking out for the young woman.
"My apologies LeBeau. I did not intend to offend, or invade your privacy.. too much that is. I was simply searching for one minor answer. Charles and I have worked far too hard to repair Rogue's mind just to have you screw around with it. Now that I know you're here with good intentions, I can lower my defences and greet you politely. So.. Welcome back Gambit."
As Anna took a few moments to think, she slowly paced back and forth in front of him. She combed her fingers into her brown and white hair, a hand above each ear on her head, attempting to help her think faster. After finally deciding Anna stopped in her tracks, turned to face him and wrapped her arms tightly, yet loose enough to not harm him. Without wasting another second she pressed her soft lips to his, her body held against his. Remy didn't know it yet, but in his absence she had figured out and trained herself in how to control her life draining abilities. Well.. most of the time anyway.
The cajun, Remy LeBeau. He was someone Frost hadn't seen very often. He'd only ever pop in for visits at the mansion for the power absorption mutant known as Rogue. "Ah.. Mr. LeBeau. To answer the thoughts racing through your very.. poorly shielded mind- No. This attire is not one of death and sorrow." Emma would then place her onyx gloved hand on her hourglass-like hips before continuing. "You are not a common sight around here, how long do you plan to feed off of the mansions resources this time?" She asked, not bitterly, but with a hint of anger in her tone. Remy was much too similar to James Howlett with all the sudden vanishing and returning. It was no wonder Rogue was fond of LeBeau.
