Raye's Latest Scribbling: Reflection of a Year
It's been a year since I moved in with my dad, and I thought I would just look back on how much has changed. I've moved into a new house, gotten a new puppy (Zeus is so bad, but he's so cute, and he's such a loverboy!), switched to a new school that I was getting lost in even at the end of the year, and made a whole new set of friends. I've completely changed my style choices, my hair's long instead of short, and I got rid of my braces and exchanged glasses for contacts. I learned how to snowboard (so fun), and I've actually managed to keep my room at least decently clean. I've swum countless laps at the Y, haven't spoken to my mother in months (and like it that way), learned how to make decent AMVS, and exchanged HBO and Nickelodeon for Disney Channel. I've consumed huge amounts of muffins, completed one novel, and written hundreds of pages on another one. I've re-modeled my room and learned how to make my own images for my profile, and I'm working on learning how to do digital painting. It's only been a year, and so much has changed!
But then again, so much hasn't. My old best friends are still my best friends, I'm still terrified of growing up, and I still have my heart set on being an author. I still have an attitude, and I'm still not afraid to use it. I still get straight A's in school, I still end up being teacher's pet no matter how hard I try to avoid the title, and I still sleep with a stuffed cow as a pillow (it's a very big cow). Coke is still my favorite pop, Charmed is still my favorite show, and I still have to plan out plot lines in my head in order to fall asleep. I'm still a computer geek, I still have expensive tastes, I'm still an adrenaline junky, and I still insist that the shaped variety of Kraft Mac 'n' Cheese tastes better than the normal kind. I still can't draw, and I still hate talking on the phone (I never have anything to say).
Life has changed, and on the outside, so have I. Instead of looking like a geek now, I actually clean up pretty good (though I wouldn't recommend seeing me with bedhead or glasses on). Time passes, people change...but I think it takes a bit more time than just a year.
Same as ever,
A Little About Raye:
Name: Raye (No, not really. But that's what you can call me. ^.^)
Age: 15, going on 16.
Weight: 90-something. I don't weigh myself regularly.
Favorite Color: Blue. Definitely blue.
Favorite Physical Feature (on herself): My legs.
Favorite Physical Feature (in general): Green eyes. I LOVE green eyes. And black hair, if you really wanna go there. But I don't think you did.
Favorite Food: Crab. Crab legs, crab cakes...If it's crab, I'll eat it.
Favorite Genre (Music): Pop. People say that they hate pop music and that it's a dead genre, but it's NOT! Why? Because pop is short for popular, people. Duh. And whatever's popular at the time is therefore pop. At the moment, rock is pop. But really, I'll listen to anything, EXCEPT rap. I hate rap.
Favorite Genre (Books): Fantasy. Fantasy, all the way. Preferably swords and sorcery, but I like modern stuff, too. Just not futuristic fantasy.
Favorite Book(s): A College of Magics, by Caroline Stevermer. Also on the list is Heir Apparent, by Vivian Vande Velde, and The Hobbit, by J. R. R. Tolkein, and The Chronicles of Narnia, by C. S. Lewis.
Favorite Song(s): I don't really have one. Well, I do, but it changes all the time, so I don't think it's worth changing this bit every day.
Theme Song:: "Livin' La Vida Loca", by Ricky Martin. Why? Because *breaks into song* I'm into superstitions, black cats and voodoo dolls! Also, I think "Just the Way I Am", by Sky Sweetnam. Why? Because *breaks into song again* I'm strange, and I like it, that's just the way I am!
Favorite Band: McFly.
Least Favorite Book(s): Eragon and Eldest, by Christopher Paolini, all three of the books that make up The Lord of the Rings, by J. R. R. Tolkien.
Favorite Poem: The Highwayman, by Alfred Noyes. It's so romantic!
Favorite TV Show: Charmed. I own every season on DVD.
Favorite Animal: Turtles of all varieties! I used to have pet turtles, but my mom made me give them away.
Favorite Movie: This changes, but at the moment I would have to say The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
Favorite Sport(s): Swimming, soccer, and tennis.
Hobbies: Cooking, reading, writing. I love to cook, and if I can't be an author when I grow up, I would like to be a chef.
Current Project: A novel I'm working on entitled Citadel.
Biggest Fear: Flying. Yes, flying. NOT heights, like everyone insists.
Things I Don't Like to Hear: That I'm all grown up. Whenever I run into someone and they say, "Look at you, all grown up," I just freeze. Why? Because I'm not all grown up. I'm still figuring things out, and I'm not ready to be grown up yet.
Anything Else: Not really. I'm a boring person...at least I think so. If you'd really like to get to know me, PM me. DON'T send me random PMs; if you want to talk to me, have something to talk ABOUT. My favorite topics include RPs, fantasy, books, and myself. Yes, I'm stuck up like that. Clothes and shoes are also winners. ESPECIALLY shoes. If you don't know me (and yes, it's possible to know me without knowing me IRL), don't send me a friends request. I'll delete it and put you on ignore.
Wanna Chat?: Call me! 814-504-3540. That's in the States, by the way.
