I particularly recommend his novel "American Gods." If you like short stories, he's also got a collection called "Smoke and Mirrors."

I tend to be attracted to fantasy and sci-fi, although with fantasy especially I like to juxtapose fantastical elements onto a contemporary setting.
Have you ever read anything by Neil Gaiman?

Especially pen. I hate writing with pen. It always bleeds through and it looks messy when you correct.
