re: I've heard there's a bug in the game where if you don't get a match within the queuing system for HoC and don't immediately follow by hitting "retry," another player will be put in a match against you where you yourself are not playing. Mighty inconvenient for the other person. Apparently they're working on a fix, but in the meantime if you see your opponent doesn't move on the first turn or two that's probably what happened. Unless I misunderstood what you meant by retreat, then we're probably commenting about completely different things. sweatdrop
Ah, After Dark is probably my favorite Murakami books, if you get a chance to read it. As for other authors, Kobo Abe is pretty interesting and I really like the writing in some of William Gibson's later books. He actually reminds me in a vague way of Murakami.
