Hi, this is my story, my name is Ella and this is what i became
hope you enjoy. :_;

*******************************************************

Ella and the Vampires.
It was raining and getting dark when Ella’s motorcycle finally sputtered to a stop at the foot of a gravel driveway. She wiped the rain off her helmet with her sleeve and tapped the gas gauge. The mileage spell she had put on the gas tank had made the trip last as long as it could, but time had run out.

She kept her helmet on, not wanting to get her long brown hair wet, and pushed her motorcycle up the gravel driveway. She could make out some kind of building at the top of the hill, a mansion or a castle perhaps. Maybe they’d have a garage she could park her motorcycle in, a towel, and a phone.

When she got closer, she could see that it was in fact, a castle. That made her a little nervous. Castles these days rarely had wholesome people, or things, living inside them. She put her kickstand down just outside the castles moat and honked on the bike’s horn, expecting someone to lower the drawbridge or at least begin shouting greetings at her from the wall.

She honked again when she didn’t hear anything. Maybe it was an abandoned castle. If that was the case, she might go around the back and see if there was a stable she could park her bike in and sleep through the night. She honked once more for luck and was rewarded with the wooden creak of the drawbridge being lowered.

She thought it was strange that no one had some to the wall and asked her who she was or what she was doing outside their castle at dusk, but thought they might old and not able to shout loud. The image of a nice old couple living in a castle who would put her up for the night filled her vision as she pushed her bike over the old, worn bridge.

The bridge began to retract as soon as her back tire left it and she was inside the castle’s foyer. She left the bike next to the wall and removed her helmet, letting her hair spill out from beneath it. In front of her was a large steel door with a tiny slip window. She walked towards it, expecting it to slide open and her host to greet her.

The slide didn’t open, but she heard the bolt slide back and watched it swing outward a few inches. She opened the door and saw no one in the darkness before her. She cast a glance behind her and saw that she was stuck; the only way was to go forward.

The steel door led into a large, dark room. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she saw that it was a kind of sitting room with a wide stairwell off to the left side with ornate banisters running down at an angle. The furniture in the room looked fancy and smelled old. “Hello?” she called out, not happy about the spook games being played with her.

There was no answer, and by now she didn’t expect any. The silence, the door opening, and the lack of lights made Ella feel like she was in some kind of horror movie. The old couple she had pictured before now became some weird eccentric man with nothing better to do that frighten visitors.

“This isn’t funny!” she shouted. Her voice seemed to be absorbed by the darkness and old furniture. She let out a loud sigh and wished she had never entered the castle. If the door wasn’t locked, she would have left right then and there.

She was about to explore the ground floor when she heard something thump on the stairs. “Hey!” she shouted as she made her way up the dark stairwell. “Quit messing around.”

The carpet on the stairwell was worn and the banister well polished from years of people going up and down them. When she reached the top, she saw that it led into the middle of a hallway made from stone. The hallway to her left was dark but there was a torch burning on the wall at the end of the hall on her right. She fancied she could see a shadow moving down that way, so off towards the light she darted.

She was halfway down the hall when the shadows around her began to swirl around her. A shape appeared in front of her; a man, thin and pale with beady black eyes. He grinned at her, revealing a set of pointed fangs.

Ella screamed, realizing that vampires had infested the castle. She turned to run, but bumped into something solid. She stepped back and saw that it was another vampire, dressed in shadows and looking much like the first, only slightly more feminine. Before she could scream, she was grabbed from behind.

The female vampire in front of her laughed as Ella felt the fangs of the other sink into her neck and the blood start to flow. She struggled, but the vampire’s grip was tight. Her vision began to dim and she grew weaker with the more blood the vampire took. Slowly, she sunk to the floor and lost consciousness.

**********************************************************

It was dark when she awoke, but the rain had stopped. She sat up and rubbed her neck where it felt stiff. “A dream…” she muttered, and looked back at the castle as it loomed behind her. “No…no it wasn’t.”

Ella’s motorcycle was parked near the moat. She got to her feet and staggered over to it. Her helmet had been left on the seat with a note stuck in the visor. The paper looked to be an old parchment; the letters were written in some old-looking fancy style Ella had a hard time reading.

Dear Traveler, the note read. Welcome to eternal night. You were fortunate enough to visit our domain while we were awake and we have gifted you with eternal life and unlimited potential. You will need to drink human blood once very few nights, lest you fall dormant and become a complete slave to the hunger. Sunlight will burn your skin, so you should seek shelter well before sunrise. A wooden stake through your heart will immobilize you; also, you must beware of religious items and people of faith, for they can harm you greatly.
Do not presume to speak to us for we will give you no answers. We wash out hands of you, fledgling.

Good night, and good luck,

Count Gideon.

Ella crumpled the note and scowled at the castle. She could feel the hunger for blood roiling in her stomach and it made her mouth water. She hurled the crumpled note into the mote and began pushing her motorcycle. It didn’t seem to weigh as much now, but that only made her angrier. She was even madder when she saw that her gas tank had been filled. It was as though Count Gideon couldn’t have gotten rid of her fast enough.

She put on her helmet, thinking she might come back with a biker gang or two and lay siege to the castle. She hadn’t wanted to become a vampire. She was a witch…witches hated vampires. “Mom is going to mad,” she thought as she started up her bike and drove it back down to the road.

She sped down the road, not fully able to comprehend just how much her life had changed. One thing she did know: she was hungry and needed to feed.
