Hi! My name's Poryphia Mine- I'm a Ghanaian born in the United States, but I've spent years abroad (I lived in Taipei, Taiwan for 2 1/2 years!) I love reading, writing, singing, playing the piano, drawing, and mostly, being a huge history buff. I'm majoring in Anthropology and Art History, and I'd love to be a museum curator, a linguist, or an archaeologist someday. Traveling the world definitely fits into the plan as well!

Hobbies & Interests:
History, history, history! Right now I'm focused on Eastern Europe (Lithuania and Latvia in particular), but Western African history and Ancient Greek history is also awesome.

Art- I'm a major in Art History, and I've been drawing ever since I was 3. I'm actually a bit sad that I won't be taking any art courses next semester for the first time ever.

Soccer- I play soccer for fun (although I used to play in local youth teams) and I will yell at the TV like nobody's business.

Favorite Music:
Favorite band- It's probably a tie between U2, Metric, and Florence + the Machine, but I love Lady Gaga (girl has pure talent!) and the Beatles almost as much. However, I'll listen to anything, and I mean anything. My iPod is chock full of different things, from Baltic folk music to T-Pain.

Favorite Movies:
Anything Tarantino, Lord of the Rings, the good Stephen King adaptations.

Movie I Just Saw: Deathly Hallows Part Two (It was awesome!)

Favorite TV Shows:
The Tudors, Mad Men, The Borgias, Camelot, and Torchwood: Miracle Day.

Favorite Books:
Philip Pullman, Philippa Gregory, STEPHEN KING, the obligatory JK Rowling, The Hunger Games...I'll even read history books! But my favorite book of all time would have to be The Long Walk by...Stephen King! I also started reading Larsson's Millennium Trilogy, and it's pretty good so far.
