Since I'm actually in a worse mood than I was in when I wrote it, and my usual reaction to remaining in a bad mood after torturing a character is to torture them some more...I think I'll just leave him there, and skip the happy ending he was originally supposed to get. Because quite honestly, I can't think of anything worse to do to him than what he's already going through except extending it.
