yes.. but the entire flashback of the story is actually told by the author and family members of the guy that died.. its like we are living his life.. except with commentary from family members and the author. and its pretty confusing too because you can keep track of WHERE he is, becuase he travels across the entire country.. and alaska and canada.. but u can also never keep track of WHEN he is. because the events in the story are not in order.. one chapter hes 8.. the next he is 24.. then he is still in college.. then dead.. lol

its pretty boring at parts. its about this guy who abandons every thing and goes to live in the wild in alaska.... he dies in the 1st chapter..
