I was just generally a jerk. :/ But, um, I usually did pretty well in class until middle school. Then I started really bombing until my last year of high school. ):

Oh, no no no no no no no no! I wasn't talking about "touch" like that. I meant the Church didn't prosecute Copernicus like they did Galileo, even though they both worked on the heliocentric model of the solar system, that's all! ):

I know what you mean! ): If you really want to get literal, the Bible makes very little sense, especially the KJV! I mean, there's a lot of metaphorical ideas thrown around. Even "love thy neighbor" isn't literal in the sense that you should romantically love the person next to you, you know?

I think so! I might be wrong... Um, he was prosecuted for heresy, but it didn't have directly to do with the heliocentric model. Copernicus set up the heliocentric model earlier that Galileo later expanded on, and the Church didn't touch him at all, too.

Y'know, it's really weird. Catholicism is normally seen as a lot stricter and less tolerant, and in some ways it is, but the Catholic Church has no opposition to the theory of evolution and a bunch of other stuff you wouldn't really expect that I can't really think of. Did you know the reason Galileo was prosecuted wasn't because he suggested the Earth revolved around the sun, but because he preached sun-worshipping? It's still pretty intolerant, I guess, if you want to look at it like that, but it's a lot better than the anti-science wrap it normally gets.

I don't have a lot of experience with Christian talk shows in general, besides the TV Evangelists. Do they discuss major issues from a Catholic viewpoint, or is it all about being religious?

Me neither. The live shows are crap. :/ But I think the animated ones are pretty okay, at least! I mean, they don't give me eye cancer or anything, haha.

I can respect that! :) But a good reason to pirate them is so you can watch them in order and really analyze them, because there's a lot of continuity between them (although the episodes themselves are basically standalone) and a lot of secrets and cool stuff can be found by watching them closely. For example: in one of the first episodes, a stuffed jackalope is knocked over and broken. Eight episodes later, a character finally tries to fix it! That's not a great example, but there's soooooo many more!
And hey, it's at the end of it's first season, so you won't have to do a lot of catching up. razz

Gravity Falls is this really edgy cartoon that airs on the Disney Channel. Its characters are really funny and relatable, and I think it's one of the smartest cartoons I've ever watched! You should check it out if you have the time. :)
