My name is Opera Phantomess, but call me O.P. for short. I am twenty-two years of age and have always been deep into the art world; you name it, I have probably tried it. My artistic talents lie within singing (preferably Opera or at least in that style), dancing (Ballet preferred), drawing and painting, acting, writing, sculpting, and so on. I perform with my local shadowcast troupe, ZEN Shadowcast, here on Long Island, New York in both Repo! The Genetic Opera (Zydrate Enthusiasts Network) as Blind Mag and Rocky Horror Picture Show (ZEN Room) as Magenta. I have been with the cast since its inception, and despite extreme ups and downs, I am still going strong as I have become a part of a family that I would do anything for.
Currently I have connected, for a reason I cannot say, with the character of Magenta from Rocky Horror, henceforth why even my avatar has been Magenta for a couple of months now. In the real world, I feel awkward running around without my granny boots on after I had purchased them for the role (they are not accurate, but one day I will have them made!). I still need to get all of her outfits together, screen accurately and to the tee (a**l retentive is an understatement for me)... All I seem to draw nowadays is me as her and anything really Rocky related. This is why I am currently partaking in ZEN Room as Magenta and am so glad to be so!
Here are some more tidbits about me:
~I am a psychic and clairvoyant whose energy is Draconian (Dragon).
~My favorite cartoon of all time is Invader Zim. Jhonen Vasquez knows what will rock the small screen, and he did it with such precision it baffles me that the show was abruptly canceled for no real reason other than selfish company profit. There are people who see Irkens as being insects/arachnids or a cartoon version of the generic "grey" aliens, but I see them as being half dragon and half human. Call me crazy if you wish, but having a past alias as "The Egyptian Dragon" helped to stimulate this conclusion.
~My inspiration and idol has to be Sarah Brightman. Ever since I heard her on the Original cast recording of The Phantom of the Opera, I have fallen in love with her voice and her as a person.
~La fantome de l'opera (The Phantom of the Opera) by Gaston Leroux is my favorite novel of all time, if you cannot tell.
~Repo! The Genetic Opera has more originality within it than most movies put forth nowadays, which is why I dedicate my time to performing in my cast. Tidbit: Repo! actually has an intriguing history beginning with the creation of its birth as a ten minute Opera titled "Necromerchant's Debt" back in 1999.
~Rocky Horror Picture Show may have been made out of both fun and personal meaning, but you have to admit this movie can get you to act crazy at times as it has done for me (then again, I was born crazy).
