Hmm, well I guess I'll start off by saying "Hello!" Nriala is a name taken from my first serious World of Warcraft character (female night elf Hunter, to anyone who is interested) way back in the day (I've since stopped playing World of Warcraft). Even though I'm male, my avatar is female, mainly because I find female characters tend to kick more butt than male ones - and yes, there are always a few exceptions to that rule!I've always loved writing, even from a young age. I started with campy poetry that always had to rhyme. That was back in middle school; I'm happy to say that, now in my third year of college, my writing has only improved (no more OMFGs and LMAOs or L337 speak in posts!) but my passion for words, written or spoken, has increased tenfold.
Though I've been apart of Gaia for many years, I always turn away from this site time and time again; not because I find a better site, but I tend to get sidetracked from the things I enjoy most. Whether from bills, classes, or a lack of energy, sometimes Gaia can just be a bit much :/ But every time I turn my back on this website, I always returned, reinvigorated, and ever eager to share my thoughts with blooming generations and those that came before me.
I don't like to think I'm snobby when it comes to posting. I try to remain at "literate" as possible (I'm very big on details. They can make or break any piece, really) but that doesn't keep me from novice threads, either. I would have been lost here on Gaia if it weren't for the rare few who offered to help me with my writing - to teach me a few "tricks of the trade" - and I attempt to help others when I've the time and when they let me.
Nowadays, I truly seek to find someone who's love for writing is equal to my own. I love private threads, generally no larger than four posters, that become an imaginative universe - and where an RPer's post doesn't mimick every line I wrote previously (to add to that: I HATE it when I have a post that exclaims my character is nervous to be around someone and that her past has made her this way etc. etc. and the person I'm posting with is able to pick up on EVERY intricate detail I just mentioned. I'm sorry, whether you've been living for 20 years for 7658 years, in some cases, you can't always be inside my head. Try to be original and let the story flow! I'll let you in at some point!).
To any whoa re interested, I ask humbly that you send me a message to see if our interests are compatible enough to "play" together! Enjoy Gaia Online as much as possible! And I hope that the tired writers who leave this site will one day return, like I always do, ever ready to wow their audience with their wonderful creations~ smile
