I've been a member of Gaia since July of 2003. I worked for Gaia as a moderator and then admin from 2004 till the end of 2010, and now I am focused full time on finishing my doctorate. Working for Gaia was a fascinating and educational experience, and although it had ups and downs, I wouldn't trade it for anything. <3
Off the Internets, I'm 30 years old. I live in NYC with my husband Sagger-AT3, who hasn't updated his profile in a while. xP We live with an assortment of cats, hamsters, and plants. I collect art, love to cook (especially Indian and Thai food), read voraciously, listen to music of all kinds, spend way too much time playing with cosmetics, and love chocolate.
I am a doctoral student pursuing a PhD in Clinical Neuropsychology so that I can (some day!) become a practicing clinical neuropsychologist. My research area of interest is the neuropsychology of emotion. I am especially interested in empathy, as well as how the brain produces emotional experience. My previous research projects involve emotional functioning in individuals with Parkinson's Disease and in healthy older adults, and I am now working on a project looking at emotion processing in musicians.
I love comments! If you have any (non-Gaia) questions or comments, please post and I'll do my best to comment back.
If you have comments turned off, please don't ask me a question! I do actually try to reply back to comments, but I will do so by leaving you a comment! If you have comments turned off, no reply for you! And that is sad.
Art Collection & Commissions
As I mentioned earlier, I collect art! I have over 2000 pieces of art in my collection at this time. To see just a few examples of these, please visit my Art Gallery. My full gallery is sadly not very updated, but if you are interested in seeing more, go here and here
If you are interested in doing a commission for me and would like to see my references and post your samples and prices, stop by my Art Request Thread!
Just a note, I did not make any of the art in my profile, nor am I an artist. So please don't send me PMs asking me to make you art! Not only is this rude, but you really don't want me to draw you so much as a stick figure, I assure you.
And although it should go without saying, please do not use any of my art or code, either from my profile or my request thread/gallery. This would be stealing and would make me very unhappy.
