Makes perfect sense. It does suck when you try to have a conversation with someone and the only valid argument is that "it's good music, you're wrong, and that's that." Unless you can really back that up with facts and comparisons to that particular genre they shouldn't speak out. Me for instance I wont argue back and forth with someone about it because I don't know the facts. But I also wont do the research. Honestly I like a vast array of music. If it sounds good to me I'll listen to it. And if someone says they think that band or song sucks then they are entitled to their opinion. I wont bash them and I wont argue. I typically try to find the common ground and build from that cause usually from their I'll find something in common with them. Like you for instance. I love Strapping Young Lad. We may not see eye to eye or agree on everything but we do share one band of interest.
And speaking of that band didn't Mike Patton produce that band or something?
Figured it'd be easier to chat with ya here than going back and forth in that thread.
Lots of interesting choices. Definitely dig the tones and feel of the first few. Definitely would have appreciated them more a few months back when I was checking out more mellow tones. But I've reached another heavy phase. Still I'm able to appreciate them and will hold on to a few of the names to check out a little later down the line.
It's funny though this was my first time going into the metal forum and people are getting all kinds of pissy. I mean seriously everyone is entitled to their opinion and even if you don't like it there is no need to throw a s**t fit. Most metal people I know are pretty chill I don't get it.
