Yeah, I love seeing all the crazy 'new' styles around. A good style or nonmatching avatar is just as impressive as a matching one, if not moreso because it's something you have to feel out rather than just formulate. And I agree - I love using cheap/starter items (I'm just a bit of an EI fan too, so those factor in to quite a few of my avatars since I have 'em and love 'em).

I lurk the GCD and occasionally venture into the AvA. On a rare occasion I check out Art Freebies or Picture Post. CB and GD kinda overwhelm me, so I avoid 'em. >.>
