I usually sketch things out by hand still but I'm playing with a cintiq now that allows me to draw on screen so I'm trying to get comfortable with that atm. I usually scan my sketches and start inking and coloring them in photoshop or paint tool sai.

Why do you say that? Have you owned cats before? I have never had a dog so I wouldn't know which would be better but my cat works for me.
