Before
One day in the ghetto, “Celestial Reason” or “The Hand Of God” reached out and touched a lost soul that didn’t care what happened next. This lost souls eyes were opened to the wonders of heavenly might and hellish destruction, made privy to every detail of the “Endless Conflict” in motion. And just when he thought he could take no more, the final joke was added in; Michael de Cerberus was reborn as a human being imbued with angelic might and insight, charged to carry out various duties in the name of “Celestial Glory” and “The Word.” He has more personal power than any human being on the planet should have, and the price of this power is that his mind is slowly....slipping....away. Being that he is not a true angel, he does not suffer from the limitations that they normally have. He has no problem (hell, he enjoys) using pugilism or just engaging in outright violence for the sake of it, and since human form IS his normal form he is massively empowered by possessing angelic might (rather than being rendered mortal like true angels are when they “fall”).
His mentality hasn’t changed much -except that he is more duty-bound than ever- and his take on life is skewed by the things he’s been exposed to. He truly cares for little more than family and has lost all belief in concepts like love and relationships, so to that end he makes very little small talk or attempts to gain the attention of anyone. He is alternately violent and crass or civilized and genteel, with no indication of what he could do next, as if his very demeanor is determined by some random coin that is flipped as often as possible. He drinks excessively simply because he can, seeing as it has so little effect as to be a silly thing to do. He often makes rude comments about other peoples situations or just steps in and defuses it as he sees fit. He doesn’t pick fights or bully others, but he is quick to join in any confrontation for the sheer joy of battle and NEVER backs down from a challenge.
When it comes to combat, he actually relishes just receiving blows and laughing at his opponent as he gets up off the floor and heals from whatever wound he just received. He often does this just to annoy whomever he is fighting. When he does decide to retaliate, he does so with zeal, but he never initially pulls out all the stops. He prefers going hand-to-hand and just delights at punching, kicking, throwing, and head-butting (a favourite) people, even when they are armed or wielding impressive ranged abilities (energy, guns, et cetera). In combat, he can be likened to the characters found in the anime DragonBall Z, as he moves just as inhumanly as they do. He rarely summons up his more powerful abilities in combat, preferring to save those for more serious situations, but when he does, it is a sight to behold.
When under emotional duress or while tapping some of his more powerful abilities, he will often be surrounded by a white nimbus or at least his eyes (and maybe mouth) will emanate a bright white light. He can do this on command as well and sometimes does it just for fun.
