I didn't necessarily feel morally better for it, but I definitely feel worse since I'm not at the moment. Definite cognitive dissonance.

Well, I'm torn on the issue, to be honest. I have lots of issues I care about, but I can only devote so much time to all of them. I think that protecting animal welfare is an important thing, so I don't really have a problem with some people prioritizing it, but I would at least prefer they not be the virulent misanthropic types.

Glad to hear it. It's hard enough without all of the societal crap adding stress, and it's good she's got good supporters.

Fair to say. I'd say they need to not forget about human welfare, but not necessarily that humans completely come first. Life's all important. But yeah, the people who don't give a crap about human suffering come off as rather obnoxious. I don't plan on joining any movements for it, but I do intend to eventually end up there. Unless I go naturalist and have to survive off the land and stuff. Then I might eat predator species (which I kill in a fair duel of skill and might).

Do you think you'll ever go back to it, if only for yourself and not the obnoxious folk?

I like finding new music I like. It's always an adventure.

Oh, also, she's a vegan, so that's cool. Apparently her logic when she was a kid went, "If I can eat a pig, why can't I eat my dog? I love my dog, so why would I eat a pig." My only thought about food when I was a kid was "HOT DOGS ******** YES." emotion_8c

She performs burlesque shows and musicals and plays and such. Don't know specifically why, but I wouldn't necessarily think it's a bad thing. It could be that because of violent treatment to her in the past, she wants to reclaim her body from those who stole it from her or something like it. Not that I'm in any way capable of speaking to what her reasons are. sweatdrop

Her main issues are, from what I've seen, using wheelchairs as props in her musicals, which can be pretty grossly ableist, and her song "Thank God I'm Pretty" which is about the negative treatment she gets for her looks. THOOOOOOUGH, on that one, I think it could also be interpreted as she hates how she's treated, but people keep telling her s**t like BUT YOU'RE SO PRETTY, BE HAPPY, and stuff like that. You know, the regular crap that victims get thrown at them to marginalize their suffering. I think she's problematic, and I accept it, but I don't want to immediately throw the baby out with the bath water.

This is my current favorite song by her.

Some people think she's a bit too radical with her lyrics (FLAG can be taken as an all out war on all men if taken extremely literally), but I take it as metaphorical. Since her music touches a lot on her psychological difficulties and history of assault, her fans either try to emulate what she's singing about hating or they try and catch her in lies, which I attribute to ableism.

I think the reason I really like her is because even though my situation is a bit different, I can understand how she feels about it all. I like that I can find music that legitimately resonates with me. Also, her clothes are bad.a**.

She's a violinist/singer/performer (I guess burlesque?). She's pretty good. Her sound sort of reminds me of a few Visual Kei groups.
