I know quite a lot about the Russian band t.A.T.u. "tatu" is a Russian word for "This girl loves that girl."

The singers, Elena Katina and Yulia Volkova, are NOT lesbian girlfriends in real life, though. Ivan Shapovalov, their first ex-producer, made 'em act like it for publicity and sales.
