Okay, I lied. My name's Emily. But if your name was Emily, would you use it? Most of my friends call me by my last name (or at least they used to before I moved), because I have mild major gender issues and it seems to fit. I won't say you can't get it out of me, because if you asked I'd probably just tell you.
I am incredibly naive. I assume that people are always too far away, weak, disinterested, or stupid to do anything to me. So it's a cynical sort of naiviey, but naivety nonetheless.
I just moved to southern California from Pennsylvania and am a senior in high school. College scares me. I'd say more, but this is all I think is safe. It amuses me to put personal information online and watch as absolutely no one cares, but it amuses my parents much less.
Alright. "About Me." What do you want to know? I think I'm a Goth and I have very long nails and I play the oboe and the flute and the recorder and I wish I played guitar but my mom won't buy me lessons.
I love music. As I said, I play a bunch of stuff. Plus I sing. I like baroque music and romantic but Mozart must die and I think harpsichord is sexy. Most of the modern music I like isn't exactly modern; I like the old Genesis and the old Pink Floyd and all Jethro Tull except Catfish Rising...sort of. Maybe I like Catfish Rising more than I think...You don't care. And Frank Zappa is my hero! But I like Voltaire and The Decemberists and...stuff. I like lots of music, but nothing you would know to look at me. I like Art Rock. Art Rock is defined as the musical genre that lets all its fans feel superior to everybody else because the musicians went to college and/or are geniuses. As I said, Frank Zappa is my hero.
Anime? Yes, of course anime. Manga, mostly, because I like to have it on the couch and I don't have a laptop. I'm also obsessed with cosplay. Maybe more than I am with anime, because I went to a convention before I was really a total otaku. Obsessed, but incompetent. My total cosplay history is a totally epic Road Kamelot assembled the day of Tekkoshocon '08 from other people's clothes and Mello. Mello is fun. I got a fangirl.
I also love Cthulhu. Cthulhu ftagn! Ia ia! Cosplayers and cultists are the only people entitled to stalk me. Come find me, and we can burn things and chant.
Oh, and lolitas can stalk me too. Because that would be amusing. Being stalked by lolitas. I like lolita. I like to make lolita clothes and foist them off on other people because, remember, I have minor gender issues. I'm trying to put together a kodona outit, though. Then I just might get stalked by lolitas...not nearly enough kodonas to go 'round, I hear...
And now steampunks as well. Because I would like to be a steampunk, I just don't have enough cogs. Where can I find cogs?!?
Sometimes I wish I had a religion...
I like Maine. I like snow. I like hiking. I like shiny things, and swords. SWORD!!!
