Hello everyone, I am Martel Irasia, but you may call me Martel. Let me tell you about who I am. It's sort of a long story, so I hope you'll bare with me.
I am about 23 years old, and I am a Half-elf. Why am I telling you this? Well, because I feel it is important, and besides, I want to end discrimination, so I might as well tell you now who and what I am. I love life and many other things, like the nature of the world around me. I would never hurt another living being, it's just not in my nature, but I would gladly heal anyone when they need it.
It's been a long time since I've been around people, so I might seem a little awkward at times, but I really would like to make friends. Especially with Humans and Elves. Heh, it's one of my dreams to see all of the races getting along peacefully, even here on Gaia, though I guess that's a ridiculous dream considering some of the people here. I hope that everyone can manage in the end, though.
I know I must seem very strange to you all, but I'm really quite lovely once I get to know you. And I'm extremely loyal to anyone I count among my friends. If you're one of those people, then consider yourself lucky, because I'll never do anything to hurt or betray you. In fact, I'll do everything within my power to help and make you feel better. Whether it's on the battlefield, or whether you're looking for someone to talk to.
Let's see... Oh, yes. I was born to a human mother who managed to find her way to the Elven village of Heimdall. She gave birth to me there, but no one could find out who my father was. It seems he's disappeared, and because of that, my mother died of a broken heart. She'd only had the chance to raise me for three years before she was too weak to keep living. I don't remember her too well, but I can sometimes still hear her voice singing my favorite lullaby. It's too bad that I can't remember her face, though.
I grew up in the Elven village, however, since there was nowhere else they could send me. I was much too young to fend for myself, so they trained me and taught me as much as they could. When I was nine I discovered that I could understand the animals in the forest around the village. Even now they still come to my aide when I call, but I try not to call them, since I don't want to see them get hurt. Either way, I was cast out of the village once I was old enough and could defend myself, but I hardly needed to.
The only times I really need to fight back against any monster is if they're too hungry to listen to me. And at those times, I call upon my friends to fight for me, and I just heal them as needed. Oh, I do so hate seeing them get hurt, but I don't want to die, either.
I have these strange dreams sometimes. About these people that I'm traveling with. I can never hear what they're saying, so I don't know who they are, but somehow I just know it's important. It makes me wonder if I'll ever meet them for real, or maybe it is just a dream. It's strange though, it usually feels so real, and sometimes I wake up screaming, afraid of watching them get hurt. How can I feel so protective of them if I don't know who they are?
Oh, you're wondering what they look like? Well, two of them are older men, while the other is a young boy, with shoulder length blonde hair. I'm pretty sure he's a half-elf as well, but I still don't know who he is. The other two have completely different personalities and everything. I think one of the older ones is a half-elf as well, probably the one with the long blue hair.
Maybe you've seen them around. If so, please let me know, I'd very much like to meet these people.
