Well. Part of having the job I like depended on our small four person team creating a job for ourselves. I could very easily have been funneled into the shitty life and grind of TV flash animator.
I understand what's happening around me but not knowing HOW its happening, lol. Hence why I admire people like your husband/wife/partner/person of romantic interest. I've never had the mind for coding its just not something I'm good at.
Design work still integrates some aspects of code but it focuses mainly on how the player can interact with objects, how assets work and most of the aesthetic stuff.
I have made a conscious choice in my life to omit kids because, while I respect and admire parents, I simply prefer to have time and money for myself. Perhaps at some point when your children are grown up, you can peruse your dream of being an anthropologist! Wouldn't that be something?
Haha, I see late responses more so as a gift when I wake up in the morning and see a message there.

Anything is fun if its your passion. I happened to have gotten really lucky with things so I am completely grateful and appreciative of where I am now. Its a good line of work.
I'm afraid I'm not the coder however. That would be truly impressive if I could make the art AND code like the guy that made Undertale and the other that made Stardew Valley. Alas taking six-seven years wouldn't be so feasible for me, haha.
I'm on the art team. I do design and other such things. Its neat. n.n
Also, I wouldn't worry too much about response time. Everyone goes at their own pace and I expect that. Its what makes things random and interesting about Gaia.

No worries! Playing games totally takes precedent over gaia. Gotta get in some you time after all.
I deal with it by not really giving a care about other people's opinions too much. Turns out a lot of stress vanishes if you can will yourself to do that.
My interests are as common as the next person's, I'm afraid. I am a huge video game enthusiast mostly because I refuse to 'get a real job' so I make games for a living.

That seems like a pretty stark contrast to what I was like as a child. I jokingly apologize to my mum constantly for being the tiniest destroyer of worlds when I was little. What I'd give to be a careless child again.
Hah, thanks. I like to take things pretty easy. There's so much anxiety in the world and I feel like I know what I need to avoid that stuff.

Certainly! I mean, most of my current friends are in their mid thirties and only one of them could be considered 'old'. The rest prefer to live up life, travel, make art for cons, etc. I feel like you've got a leg up in life if you're a creative thinker. I bet you are.

Two boys huh? They're going to be a handful if they aren't already now. I bet you can handle them fine.

I can understand how personal projects would take a backseat now that you've got a family that keeps you busy. I'm sure they enjoy making the crafts with you though. Don't worry you're not old at all. I'm nearly in my thirties myself and my friends have kids. Besides, you're not old until you make a conscious decision of it.
