Being shocked about the nude model? Oh definitely! Fine Arts students get them all the time (hehe, I get mine tomorrow XDDD) If your going into 3D animation they may have a model come in for you guys so you guys can learn about the human anatomy and transfigure it into 3D on the computer and then animate the body parts depending on the way the model moves.

Fun! Ah anatomy and still life (blind contour can really help you with these two things, NO JOKE)... I get a nude model this Wednesday biggrin actually I am quite fearful because supposedly my drawing teacher likes to go for 'interesting' (as in 300 pound men or 60 year old women who don't work out... let's hope it's neither). Sony Vegas is more so for video editing, you won't be using it for 3D and it depends on what kind of photoshop you have because there is a photoshop program for 3D actually, I forget what it's called but it's not the greatest.

I like JAC's Fine Arts, no portfolio required XD and there is a computer graphics program there too that I believe delves into 3D animation. But still, good luck ^^ get started on that portfolio!

Awesome! Start making your portfolio now, Dawson always requires a portfolio and considering that you're applying for 3D, they are most likely going to ask how much experience you have with animation programs such as flash, gimp, photoshop, etc. (as well as 3D programs) and you will most likely have to show some stuff that you did on those programs.

Like I said before, steer away from anime and try to go more so for realism and if you REALLY need a cartoon style DO NOT do anime and do more so American style cartoons (like Johnny Test, Superman, Batman, etc). Dawson is a huge competition CEGEP especially for 3D animation or ANYTHING graphics and they ask for a lot of time from you (bye bye social life! (at least...that's what they told me)). So get started now on your portfolio and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE and you should be fine! I'm rooting for you!~
