About

The Turn of a Page

It happened once on a dark cold night
As I sat in the glow of computers light,
Only to find a startling delight
As I stumbled upon that very web site.

This was the beginning of a whole new age
As I reached only to turn that page.

It gave me perspective and many a friend,
It gave me release, it gave me an end
For there was much I began to comprehend
All I believed, this was a godsend!

"Freedom!" as I escaped that cage
Only to reach and turn that page.

A time I left, all that I had gained,
I was restricted, bound and chained,
My hope and joy faded and waned
Until I returned to that I attained.

Those friends all seemed to be that sage
As again I reached to turn that page.

Many a struggle, many a war
I promised again will I never bore
I gained a little something, I wanted more
The same mistake again? Nevermore.

I never believed to look back in rage
As quickly I turned that page.

My head now lifted, my chin pushed out
She showed me quite a different route
I felt so much like crying out
"You I cannot do without!"

Only now can I truly gage,
How I wish this was my page.
