I don't think so. I think you have to have 0 replies for the first 24 hours of the thread.
One thing that helped me was to look through farther pages of the CB, find the threads with 0 posts, and see what they were titled. I remember seeing one titled "Meh..." and I think that's just such a common thread title that no one was interested in checking it out.
There's always the chance that some random spammer will hit your thread and post in it, or there could be someone going through old pages of the CB and posting in every thread that has 0 replies (I just made my thread so I don't know if it'll last, but I'm well off the first page) and is closer to 24 hours, but you will have a much better chance than if you make a thread asking people not to post (a lot of people are specifically going in to those threads right now and posting in them).

Just think of something that is super boring, but not boring enough that people might want to comment about how lame it is or anything someone could be interested in (if you make a thread about math or science some nerd might actually go in there). Maybe make a thread titled "Homeowners insurance" or "Refinancing", then copy a few sentences out of the wikipedia article for that topic and post them.
If your post makes it past 5 minutes you should be fine, the big thing is getting off that first page.

If you're trying to go for the invisibility achievement, don't title your post something like "Don't post" or "Invisibility". Just make an extremely uninteresting sounding thread and you should be fine (or if you get unlucky it might take you a few attempts). Try something like talking about a textbook you have, possibly even include a few sentences of text to make people so uninterested that they don't even bother to go in there and spam something.
