The Heavens above the metaverse of the fourteen fantasies are home to four Goddesses of Existence. They are Cosmos, Goddess, Minerva and Etro. When the metaverse was born, so too were there four Principle Goddess, each born to support and sustain their sisters.
The first born was Cosmos, reigning Goddess of harmony. She shaped the metaverse from nothingness, and created the planes on which her sisters could exist. She is the sworn enemy of Anarchy, of Chaos, the darkness of disorder itself. She is the patron goddess of warriors, holy job classes and the fantasies first, second and third.
The second to come was Goddess of the Warring Triad. She bears no name, only ‘Goddess’ as she has been named by the menfolk. A most tragic being, the Goddess is. Too much hatred in men she has seen, hardening her once loving heart. She cares not for humans, but for the magical beings too often suppressed by human hands, though she gives exception to those chosen by the Espers. She is patron to the fourth, sixth and ninth fantasy worlds, and to summoners.
Third coming was the golden-haired Minerva, Queene of humanity and judge of all things living. She is at constant war with her darkness-sent foil, Jenova. Long has she fought to protect humans, those she loves most. She wages eternal war with Jenova, who has become part of her being. She is patron goddess to that of the fifth, eighth and seventh fantasy worlds, the seventh her most beloved. She and Goddess share a friendly rivalry over the human race.
The last to arrive was pale Etro, fairest of the fair goddesses, but one who rules over the shadowy world of death. One as merciful as she is beautiful, Etro welcomes fallen warriors into the afterlife. She is the patron Goddess of the tenth, twelfth and thirteenth fantasy worlds. From time to time, Etro will bless (or curse) strong souls with the ability to see the light of death, granting them her guidance.
