About
Is life bittersweet? When you taste something sweet then feel that the after taste is bitter, only the bitterness remains. An unpleasant sensantion which may deny every sweet aspect of...
Did I say life may be unpleasant? Unpleasant my a**. It may be Painfull. And Spicy is painfull, not Bitter.
Pepper spicyness is painfull but some people enjoy it. They're ready for the pain, which is good itself and when it vanishes it's ever better. Lukewarmness is pleasant. This in-between cold and hot is so pleasant that sometimes we feel that no more spice should be taken or added. But this any constant feeling may become boring...because when something becomes constant, we stop feeling it. It becomes trivial, it begins to be forgotten. Like earth's speed...who would care if it rotated around it's own axis 1 metter per second instead of about 500? After all, we all move with it...so we can't feel it. We can just feel the oscilations...so we must either add or remove spice.
So what happens when all the pain vanishes? Is it like you're living in a dream world? No...we're somehow tied to the pain...the absence of pain may be even more painfull.
See for instance emperor Caligula. He could take everything he wanted, he had unlimited wishes to make. But it was not enough. He craved for more, denying pain with sweetness. And then...the everything turned to nothing. An overdose of "everynothingness". With just sweetness your world crumbles, with just pain your life suck.
I wish I could everyday temper my life with the perfect dose of spice and sugar....
Because life is Spicysweet. Period.
