That sounds like a good idea. Always nice to have a choice of options... Actually I joined Subeta but never log on. I've been on Gaia for so long it's the only avatar based site I can bother to stick around on. sweatdrop
Well my reply is late and the August MCs are already out. They're nice enough but not for me this time. 3nodding
Cool beans! I don't buy GC anymore myself, just earn it. I'm waiting to see what the August MC items are like, may or may not buy a letter...
Did you know you can use the serach "All Gaia" option when making your avatar in My Gaia, to see items you don't own along with what you do? I do it to check the layering on items before I quest for a dream avi. 3nodding
Ah, I see. Well yeah working with good people helps a lot too! It's such a bummer working with people you don't get along with. I had to work next to an old pervert at my last job. So that was super uncomfortable. Fortunately I left pretty soon after he started. Because that was going to be a problem for me. Oooh, psychology? That's awesome! Ew though, prereqs are the worst. I feel ya. *pats* I've got a public speaking class this quarter, and it makes me want to vomit. It combines two things I hate more than almost anything. Public.. and speaking. >`n> Psychology though.. that's too cool. I've always been interested in psychology as more a sidelines type of thing. I mean.. I couldn't see myself making a career of it, but I love studying it for the sake of creating more realistic characters, etc. I'm majoring in video game design. ^-^ I'm artsy. I like drawing characters. A lot. I don't do as well with scenery, but I think that's mostly because I've had less practice with it. This is terrible but I have no idea what grade I'm technically in. I've just transferred schools, you see, and while I have completed two full years of undergrad studies, I don't know that all of those credits ended up transferring over. sweatdrop
Oh, that is exciting! I don't know, it's almost like a mini-celebrity encounter, or something? Maybe it's just the being noticed part that's nice. I don't know. But yeah.. super exciting. ^-^''
Oh my. It sounds like you've been busy! Woah. Yes, I completely understand. Several of my close family members work in various positions in the medical profession, and they are typically absurdly busy. I feel for you! Hopefully you get a little bit of rest here soon! Do you like your job, at least? Only.. it's a little easier being that busy when you love what you're doing. I mean I was working 50-60 hours a week in a job I absolutely hated for the past year or so, and it was awful. Buuuut during my first two years of college, I spent way more time than that on homework, and I loved it anyway just because I had a passion for what I was doing. I am SO PUMPED to be going back to school this Fall. sweatdrop Do you have a packed school schedule? I don't think I've asked this before, what grade are you in?
Oooooh, one of the Devs that I am a huge fangirl of quoted me in a thread. I was so happy. >u>;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
It's not really that rare for things like that to happen in the GCD, I guess.. there are a lot of GCDers that talk to the devs and artists and whatnot kind of often.. but I am not one of the noticeable people in the GCD, lol. And I was just super excited about it. sweatdrop It sounds really silly whenever I actually try and explain it, I know. o;
I haven't seen you around in a few days! How have you been?
Oh wow. A whole proper quest thread and everything? That's awesome! You should send me a link to it so I can go lurk there suspiciously from time to time. >u> And you got art too? *whistles* That's just fantastic. Avi art is maybe my favorite thing about Gaia. I don't get too many freebies because my avi is so complicated, but sometimes when I have extra gold I go on a spending spree in the art shops. sweatdrop I am hopelessly addicted. ( Except that was a lie because I never actually have extra gold but sometimes when I have gold that I'm saving for something I decide to blow it on art instead. xD )
Hmm.. let's see.. Well, I do most of my posting in the GCD and the Avatar Talk forums.. and occasionally the Art Freebies. Uhm.. I think there may be some Guilds or RPs that people have "hangout" type threads in. But I mostly lurk around the GCD. Recently though my friend started a charity and I have been hanging out in that thread a lot! I know what you mean about looking for a place to just kind of be. I've been looking for one for some time now, actually. I really like this charity thread, though. So far it's definitely working for me as a place to hang out. I think in general charities and art freebie hangouts are well suited for what you're looking for.. It has been kind of awhile since I've actually been active around here though, so I'm not sure how accurate that is. Here is a link to my friend's charity, if you're interested! I think she has been offline for a little while for some real life stuff, but she's usually around and she is super nice. :3
There's a number of VN's I'm fond of and most of them are available in English (because I can't read Japanese, eroge are an exception because I use them for gameplay over story). I could list them out for you. Finding them will be up to you, I generally pirate them because I'm a dirty pirate.
Let's see. Good starter ones are Saya no Uta and Yume Miru Kusuri. The second has a lovely art style of pastel colors (and honestly some slightly wonky anatomy) and the stories are generally enjoyable. The first, Saya, is a bit of a horror vn with the world viewed in the protagonist's twisted perception, where most things are hideously gory and grotesque. The story's fantastic though. I'd also recommend Tsukihime, Fate/stay Night, Demonbane, Kana -Little Sister, Nocturnal Illusions, and if you want something a little more game-like, the Rance series of games.
