I have not taken a Sociology course yet smile and yes, our school is very open with the arts; music, our new dance minor, and art are popular choices. Our... well, our drama department was the bomb, until the "personal life statement" hit hard and half the staff quit (news link) Everything is picking back up now. I didn't participate in the debate to be honest, it was about the faculty, not the students.
Spanish is important here, literally, half my school's hometown is Hispanic. I learn tid bits from working with our mission groups. I just find French to be soooo beautiful, and I can pick the accent up quicker than anything. Other than Scottish or Irish. I know tid-bits of Irish too, but not as good as Spanish, since I took 3 years of it in high school. (Rosetta Stone has a good program for it! They also have a lot more for other languages if you want to speak them, I think the programs are $300 idk what they would be in Canadian money.)
Oh I see. We are more open at my school to art students; everyone helps everyone! haha
Well for Psychology majors it is common at my institution, but I am required to take one language in a sequence (i.e. I will be taking French I, French II, and French III) but I had the choice of Spanish or German too. They were not offered in the sequence I need to graduate. (And no offense to Hispanics, but I do not like Spanish at all.)
