Kensashi Mitsurugi was found in the living world by Ichigo Kurosaki when sent to investigate a high spiritual Pressure in the Reno, Nevada sector of the living world. Upon his arrival he meet with Kensashi Mitsurugi who at the time was a human and was in the process of fighting large hollow with nothing more then a wooden Boken in order to save a young girl who later would be discovered to be a Espada named Saphira.
During the confrontation with the Hollow Kensahsi was kicked into Ichigo accentually touching his substitute Soul-Reaper badge which in turned kicked Kensashi out of his human body revealing that he wasn't some normal soul but a Sou-Reaper who happen to be still attached to his soul chain. Also Kensashi's spiritual pressure was released which cased Ichigo to realize that he found that large spiritual pressure he was sent to investigate.
The battle ended quickly with out much harm done to anyone there. Ichigo opened that soul gate that lead back to Karakura town in Japan and brought along both Kensashi and Saphira. When they arrived they were introduced to Kitsuke Urahara who was debriefed about Kensashi from Ichigo. At this point kitsuke Urahara did the only Logical thing and that was to separate Kensashi from his body.
Kitsuke Urahara cut Kensashi's soul chain which began the encroachment but this was a different process because he was already a Soul-Reaper. Kensashi's task was to use sheer will power at the final encroachment to stay a Soul-Reaper. Kensashi succeeded but barley for his Hollow was exceedingly strong. After that trail Kensashi was kept on as a substitute Soul-Reaper and latter accepted as a full Fledged Soul-Reaper which eventually lead him to become the 11th Squad Captain after Kenpachi Zuraki.

Hollow Kensashi

I know this looks like Ichigo but its not, this is Kensashi's inner Hollow. As those of you know a persons inner hollow is revered color as the other person but looks the same as them. As Ichigo and Kensashi looked alike aside from Kensashi having black hair and not having a scowl like Ichigo..there hollows could pass as twins even in Banki form since Zantaiyou is the Brother Zanpaktou of Zangetsu.

But for a bio, I was wondering if I could have him born as a hollow, and when the Hōgyoku was made, he was turned into a Shinigami some how and went to Soul Society. Like, could that work or would it interfere with the plot too much or be cliche with the storyline? And I am wondering because I want to keep him as Grimmjow's brother, but the only way to do it is to have him born as a hollow.
