The Obligatory "About Me" Section

To begin with, if I'm not familiar with you, you can call me "Kaiser" or "Sharky," or some other appropriate handle. The last time I checked, I was 5' 9" tall and 155 pounds, mostly muscle. My hair is brown, my eyes are blue, and I am covered in scars, the remnants of past battles and my own dumb mistakes.

At the time of writing, I am a 2nd-Dan black belt in traditional Taekwondo. My seventeen years of training also include time done in savate, American boxing, eskrima, bojutsu, aikido, and judo. I am currently familiarizing myself with Indonesian Buaya and Harimau, Lancashire catch-as-catch-can wrestling, and level one Modern Army Combatives. I'm giving lessons, if anyone's interested.

I am, at the time of writing, twenty-three years old and attending Portland Community College, where I am at last overcoming my inability to get a degree and moving ahead in life. I expected to be attending George Fox University in the near future.

I am a musician by trade. I'm quite fond of classical (especially from the period of that same name), but I do not object to non-screamo rock that's not too heavy. I mostly enjoy playing classical, and have developed a severe dislike for jazz. My primary instruments are trumpet and flugelhorn, but I am also capable of playing a piano with some very small degree of proficiency, and can barely manage a guitar if confronted by one. Although I will never openly admit it, I am a somewhat skilled vocalist, but nothing to write home about. I don't like to improvise, and folks should just get used to it. If you want to appeal to me on a musical level, hit me up with some good classical, Rise Against, Lordi, Apocalyptica, or Abney Park.

Other skills that I possess include (but are not limited to): cooking and baking, anything involving language, horsemanship, smithing, seamstering, household cleaning, wilderness survival, bowmanship, sailing, and making the perfect cup of coffee (one cup of liquid, three units of sugar, enough half-and-half to turn it dark khaki).

As far as entertainment goes, I'm a hardcore tabletop gamer (Third-Edition Dungeons and Dragons, New World of Darkness, Third-Edition Shadowrun), but am not unfamiliar with the world of computerized gaming. My favorite console game is Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and my favorite game on my computer is Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. I greatly dislike the "next-generation" consoles, as they represent mankind's foolish desire to constantly fix things that aren't broken and spend lots of money doing it. That said, I do own an X-Box 360.

I am a straight, white, reasonably conservative, Christian (Lutheran) male with a dominant right hand that I will use against anybody who derides me for being such. I am against the act of homosexuality but recognize that the thought might be unavoidable, I am against abortion unless the mother would die during delivery, I believe that putting anything other than food, air, and sex in your body is a bad idea unless directed by a medical professional who is familiar with your system, and I believe that Yahweh created the universe and is a caring, loving deity. I do not "hate" anybody, especially not as a unit.

Lastly, I am of French descent and proud of it, and anybody who feels the need to give me crap about it can just manger des cailloux et mourir.
