About
Just a typical day Remembering 9/11Well, just another day in the life of, yours truly. Other than the fact that today is the 5th anniversary of September, 11, 2001. When i think about it, it seems almost imposible that it happened 5 years ago. I was only 11 (10 days away from being 12). But, even after five years I can still remember that day perfectly. I woke up at 6:45 am to get ready for school. I went about my business as normal. I had no idea that after that day, thousands of innocent people would be slaughtered. I had no idea that gas would get so high in the coming years. I had no idea that my beloved Grandfather, would not live far past the 2nd anniversary of that day. September 11, 2001 will be etched into my memory for ever... Because of the all those people who died that day, and all the people that would die after it. I had no idea that we would be sending troops to Afganistan and Iraq. I had no idea that while I was in school, my Grandfather, the man who had taken care of me my whole life and was practicly my father, would quit his job, come home sick, and die of cancer 13 months later. That day was the end of my life that i had taken for granted. I would be tested continually after that day. Now five years later, I have lost 2 Grandfathers, a Great Grandpa and a Great Grandma, a friend. and a aunt. Before that day, no one that I had ever known had died, I had never been to a funeral, and I had never seen my uncle cry. Things haven't been easy for anyone since that terrible day. Those who lost loved ones in those towers or trying to save people around then especialy. I am sure you have heard this, but please take a moment and remember all those innocent people... In the towers, near the towers, on those planes. And remember all those who did their best to help. Police Officers, Firefighters, Servicemen and women, those on flight 93 who stopped that plane from hurting other people by crashing into the pentagon, and all the men and women who did their very best to help. Honor and remember them, because they are the definition of 'heros'. They loved and cared enough to risk and many to GIVE THEIR LIVES to TRY to save others. Even if by the end of the day they had saved no one. They knew the risks. They knew that many of them would not return home. Yet, they bravely stood up, and they did their job regardless. If one thing good came from September 11, 2001, it was that I believe it helped to unify further us as a country, as brothers and sisters. It showed that their still are true heros to this day. It proved that we are strong, and that there is still love in this world.
