Lion King always made me bawl my face off... but I did like it. As for my ex? She's a real piece of work... and I'm not just saying that because I'm all bitter over an ex... I get along just fine with most of my ex's. It took two years after breaking up, but she finally stopped trying to screw around with my life. I lost most of our mutual friends, though.
Pfft, oh well, it's the past.

Ohhhh, I haven't seen Aladdin in years. Funny, I never liked it when I was young, but I have fond memories of it now.

Our economy is really bad here and everyone is moving out west, but we have a great city... so much history.

I always thought ceramics were really cool... my ex wife's ex-husband did ceramics, though, so I wasn't allowed to have anything like that in the house... she hated ceramics, because of him. I now have a ceramic turtle, that my mother made during the 70s. Although, when I was with my ex, I did refuse to get rid of a few ceramic mugs and a giant ceramic mouse that, to me, symbolises my old gerbil.

That is so awesome (your crafting)... I have no talent sewing and no clue how to crochet (or knit)... and I've had good instruction in all three.
By homemade beads, do you mean the ones made from magazines and such? I've always thought those were really cool... there's a guy who makes jewellery like that to sell in our City Market (which is a permanent market with a cheesemaker, a butcher, a fishmonger, a winemaker, produce stalls, and local crafters who rent stalls... as well as a few retaurants). He also sells bowls and other items made out of heated vinyl records and such... actually, he sells a lot of neat recycled items.

I make a number of products... lotion, lip balm, body butter, bath salts, salt scrub, sugar scrub, incense, perfume, lip balm, shaving cream, healing balms, bath bombs, etc... I make different chocolates and dog treats, too.
I can't choose just one favourite scent. wink I'm obsessed with scents... I love sandalwood (okay, I guess that is my absolute favourite), patchouli, lavender, bergamot, orange, lemon, grapefruit, cinnamon (especially when blended with orange), eucalyptus, and peppermint... then again, I love a whole lot more (and I might have forgotten some of the ones I like most).
What are your favourite scents? Do you do any crafting of some type?

I don't... well, not formally anyway. I sell a few items here and there, but it really costs so much to make good quality products that I'd have to charge way more than a company would charge, just to break even, let alone make a profit. Except for lip balm... that's pretty cheap to make.
It's pretty sad that the market is so regulated, it's cheaper to buy pre-made name brand items than it is to make your own products.

Oh wow... I just finished reading your profile and we're so similar, it's downright eerie!

So, you want to know more about me, eh? Hmm... I'm a terrible conversationalist, so do forgive me for rambling and being all over the place, but I'll try to paint a better picture.

I work in childcare and absolutely love my job (I work with special needs children and was just promoted to be the director/supervisor of the special needs program at our daycare/preschool)... I'm currently getting the funding together to go back to school and obtain my Early Childhood Education certificate, as well as finish my degree in psychology, so I can go on to specialise in Autism Spectrum Disorders (many of the children I work with are autistic and I was labelled as having 'autistic tendencies', when I was a child). I only got back into the workforce in late January or early February, after being out of work and on social assistance for the last 2 and a half years (minus a 6 week temporary position at a call centre, doing customer service for Walmart.com, back in November and December of 2012). After a bitter break-up in which my ex stole my dog Kazimir (I never fought to get him back, since I didn't want to separate him from her dog Kizmit), drained my finances, and slept with my biological mother, as well as a serious back injury (that prompted me to get my a** in gear and lose over 170 lbs - my weightloss journey still continues, with another 70 lbs to go), I experienced the darkest depression of my life and came to know myself, after getting over the fact that I just wanted to oft myself (I credit my dog Koby, whom I bought after the break-up, as well as my cat Nyx, who came with me from the break-up, with saving my life).

Just a few years ago, I was majoring in philosophy. Philosophy is still a passion of mine, but it's had to take the back burner, since I've come to accept that I will need money to survive and I don't really feel like becoming a university professor (which is one of the few directions with a philosophy degree). Before I had this realisation, though, I met Julie and dropped out of school to help pay her bills and raise her kid. It's kind of funny... how my entire life turned around in just a few years. If I didn't meet my ex-wife, I probably would have finished my philosophy degree and I'm not sure I would have ever gotten back into childcare and psychology. I had it "all figured out", then bam, met (and moved in with) a woman who is 15 years my senior (as well as her daughter, who is now 20 years old) and my whole world came crumbling down... I'm now re-building the pieces, which was terrifying at first, but has become one of the most rewarding experiences in my life.

I live a pretty boring life, though... my idea of a good time is coming home, getting into my PJs and curling up at the computer, with a freshly packed bowl of wacky tabaccy, to play around on Gaia. I do have other interests, of course... I realise I just made myself sound like a lazy pothead... I'm just usually so tired by the end of the day/week.

I love, love, love aromatherapy... and I'm always mixing up a new lotion or lip balm or shaving cream, or type of incense, or, or, or... wink I guess I just really love smelly things.

There's a whole lot more, but I'm sure you'll come to know more if we continue chatting... I'm a pretty open book. smile
