As you can see, there are a lot of avatars on this page. Each and every one of them are characters in the book I'm currently writing. Here's the basic plot synopsis:
The gods, who dwell on high from their realm, Osarik, have decided that the warring countries of Brobinigam, Kliar, and Phryla need a time of peace. But they can’t exactly wave their arms and have peace reign. They need a mortal host.
Brobinigam is host to inhuman creatures; body morphers, nymphs, centaurs, and many other creatures. However, during the Great War, it seemed that most of the races had become extinct, but the humans who remained in Brobinigam have not forgotten them. Kliar is a country of humans solely devoted to destroying the inhuman filth of Brobinigam. Phryla is a relatively neutral country, though it despises the creatures of Brobinigam, it does not ally itself with Kliar. In fact, the inhabitants of Phryla are nuisances to both of its bordering countries; stealing from traveling caravans, burning their fields, and looting the land.
The most sensible host for the gods would neither be human nor beast, but a mixture of the two. The Ratiasha, a clan of humans with the ability to morph into animals, are the prime subjects for the gods’ gift. Now all the gods have to do is wait for the perfect individual.
Levana is a young Ratiasha in the prime of her youth. She is sixteen and has passed her training with flying colors. She is relatively oblivious to the quarrel between the humans and the beasts and knows little about anything beyond Kimiano’s gates. She is the perfect candidate, according to Mahitana, the God of Sorcery and the God of Gods. When she embarks on a journey to prove her worth with her childhood friend, Damian, Mahitana sets up obstacles to test, who they call, Dessole.
Mahitana gave the people of the continent a prophecy that spoke only of a child that will unite the land and bring peace to their world. He revealed the prophecy without the knowledge of many of the other gods. Jaerkane, the God of Evil, Chaos, and Destruction, and Asharia, the Goddess of War, are not happy with Mahitana’s decision. After all, Dessole would be given all of the powers of the gods, including their own.
Jaerkane brings it upon himself to attempt to raise a child who will essentially bring down Dessole. He chooses a young orphan by the name of Amaya to undergo this task. He raises her as his own, giving her some of his powers and teaching her everything he knows. But did Jaerkane choose this girl because of her potential? Or because of the fact that only he knows who her real family is?
Levana is torn between what she believes to be her destiny and the natural balance of the world. Damian will stand by her side, but for how long? How much will she have to endure before she completely cracks? She has the power to bring peace to the world, but she also has the power to destroy it.
Along the way, she realizes things about herself, and of the history of her country. Will what she learns change the way she feels about the gods or of her people? Will she follow her destiny or create her own?
What will she choose?
