Story

Scabior may have attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and may have been Sorted into Slytherin house, as he appeared to know where the Slytherin Common Room was.

Scabior became a Snatcher during the Second Wizarding War, catching muggle-borns and anyone who opposed Lord Voldemort, in return for gold. He was among the group that captured Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley in the spring of 1998. On Greyback's orders, Scabior checked the list of truants, searched the prisoners' tent for Harry's glasses, read a cutting from the Daily Prophet, and expressed terrified awe at the thought of summoning Lord Voldemort. He was also the only member of the group not to jeer when Greyback expressed a desire to bite Hermione, instead encouraging his leader to restrain himself. Scabior's last known act was at Malfoy Manor, when he drew his wand on Bellatrix Lestrange, lost a very brief duel, and fled with the other Snatchers. It is supposed that Bellatrix killed Scabior and the other Snatchers, as she planned to do. However, it is also possible that she let them leave. It is possible that he was present at the Battle of Hogwarts as his superior, Fenrir Greyback, was also present.

After Lord Voldemort's final defeat, Scabior was presumably killed, imprisoned in Azkaban, or on the run from the Ministry. However, it is also possible that he had defected from the Snatchers.


Personality

Scabior appeared to be sarcastic, and also enjoyed his power while leading the Snatchers. Moreover, he teased Hermione, and also disliked the "Mud-bloods".

Greyback snorted. "You telling me I don't look good, boy?" He questioned. "Maybe it is about time to find myself a mate." He shook his shaggy head and barked a quick laugh. "But pickings within my circles are a bit slim, you know. The females under my command ain't strong enough to be an alpha." Greyback walked off a few paces and then looked back at Scabior. "Well boy, I think I'll be off for now. I got to prepare for the full moon. See you 'round, boy." With that he disappeared without a sound.

Greyback sensed Scabior become a bit defensive and waved his clawed hand in the air. "Don't get your shorts in a twist, boy. I ain't going to do anything with your woman." He said casually. Greyback meant it, he wouldn't kill any of his team of Snatchers unless they did something to harm him first. "Plus, your bird ain't my type." He said with a sinister grin. "I like my birds a little less feisty than that spitfire."

Greyback grinned toothily. He enjoyed Scabior's bravado. "Well, you're already flea-ridden, becoming a hairy beast just seems like the next logical step for you." His grin widened at the mention of children. "Children are like a specialty item on a menu, but I ain't overly picky. I like all sorts of entrees." He sniffed the air, "Especially the ones that try to hide their fear with vanilla and black raspberry. The prettier they are, the better in my opinion." His low laugh had an eerie wolf-like quality to it.

Greyback sat on his heels and yawned, the full moon was coming up in a couple days and he was feeling the familiar exhilaration of the nearing hunt. He cocked his head to the side and grinned at Scabior. "You should let me turn you into a werewolf. I think you would enjoy the experience." He chuckled.

"If it were anyone else, I'd gut them without thinking twice." He grinned, his wolf-sharp teeth gleaming. Greyback was thoroughly amused by Scabior's sarcastic attitude. It was one of the dozens of reasons that he never thought of killing the man.

Greyback threw his head back and roared with laughter. "That's why I like you, boy." He said, "You got no fear." He sniffed the air and grinned. Scabior was the only person aside from Voldemort that didn't stink of fear in his presence. It was a refreshing change of pace.
