My name is Ilham also known as Proficient. I was born on January 8, 1992 in Los Angeles, California. I have two goals in life: one is to be a rapper and another is to be a doctor. I love my friends and family to death. They've always been by my side since day one. I learned everything the hard way and that nothing comes for granted. I personally have quite a few hobbies: writing, rapping, and listening to music, hanging out with my family and friends, reading books, playing sports such as basketball, tennis, soccer, and football, watching anime, going on road trips, and having a good time. My favorite colors are black and white. When I spit into the mike I spit as if there is no tomorrow because I want to take advantage of every moment.
As a person I'm a very cool and chill person. I'll admit however that I've made mistakes just like the rest of the world and they are not ones I would like to remember. However, at the same time I learned valuable lessons and advice my family and friends gave to help shape up the person I am today. So, if you're one of those persons that have done or might know what it's like to be in my position then I'll tell you this: Make the best of everything as much as you can cause there isn't always going to be a plan b or c. Make the right choices and follow your heart and instincts blindly and you'll know what to do. However, the main thing is you have to stay true to yourself and everyone close to you.
I rap about anything and everything that I can make a connection with. I rap about my experiences, thoughts, and what goes on around the world. I don't have any specification when it comes to technique. I hear a beat and I start writing or spitting depending on the scenario. Sometime I get asked the question as to why I rap. To tell you the truth...I don't know. It started with basic poetry and now its turned into music.
I'm part of a group called B~District which founded by my four friends and I. We all come from different sides of the world and have different backgrounds. The group is made up of myself, Assef, Young Twizla, and Big Ca$h. I come from the west side, Assef comes from the south side, Young Twizla comes from the east side, and Big Ca$h comes from the east side. Music is the our unification. We have many similarities yet they are so different. Our music as a group is unique and none that has been heard of yet. People would tell us that we're not going to make it in the industry. We think the opposite, and it will happen. We don't do it for the money, we do it for the passion. That's what separates us from others.
