i have the gist of it. it's gonna be your basic hero saves the damsel in distress kinda thing but with several twists. if i make it action/ adventure, it would open up a lot of possibility for side stories too. hmmm, i think i'll do that lol
lol it's actually inspired by bloodborne and savant: ascent. the former just came out and it's a super duper exciting horror-esque, goth/ victorian themed rpg. the world in-game is so aesthetically pleasing. i plan on making the atmosphere more dark than the story though, although the elements in the story will be more i guess "romantic" in the gothic, frankenstein, dracula kinda sense haha.
i'm still thinking of what kind of genre it should be. since i wanna do a pixel-y kinda game i figured maybe a turn-based rpg might do it but i'd have to create something especially unique since there're already so many battle rpg's that exist today. then i thought maybe i could do a legend of zelda kinda game but it would take a really long time to develop b/c of all the puzzles i'd have to create. then i thought maybe a platformer? but platformers don't really excite people too much these days. right now it's kind of an in-between of both the legend of zelda and the 2-d side-scrolling platformer type. i had a previous idea of a bullet hell shooter but then it wouldn't have had too much room for story which is what i want to implement too. i have one planned out though and the artistic themes and aesthetics are all taken care of; i just need to figure out what genre i want it to fit in and then keep working on it the way i have been.
