Being an editor sounds like a ton of fun. You must like English then, eh? I was thinking about going into that field because my teacher once recommended it, but I'm not certain.
Ah, colleges don't function like my Magnet High? I thought they did because they were preparing us for college or whatever. Yeah, PBLs are super fun! Especially i you have a really good group to work with, and every year we do this big community service project in our major classes and it's really fun. You get really close to the ones in your major class because of all the time you spend and everything, I love it.
Your husband has a great photographic memory then. I don't think I can memorize the entirety of an SAT scantron without pushing myself to the max, haha. Being a part of an independent business sounds like such good fun, I'd have to give it a try one day. surprised
I'm pretty sure she goes to PSU? I'm not entirely certain because I haven't contacted her in years, but I recall her mentioning something about that. Yeah, you might run into her. < 3 Her name's Eeliyana. And nope, I'm not planning on majoring in Web Design in college, I'm planning Psychology and Criminology. I just enrolled for Web Design so I could get into the Magnet School because of the opportunities it gives me and the community is great. But I plan on utilizing my Web Design skills in the future as a side job though! I haven't looked into any potential colleges yet, but I plan to discuss with a consultant next year so I can narrow down my choices.
The PBLs are awesome, I love them. Instead of essays and individual projects we are given a "Driving Question", (for example: What would an anti-bullying campaign at a contemporary High School look like?) and we are given months to attempt to answer that question in any way we see fit. So the PBLs open up our imaginations and we are free to do whatever we want, sure there are generic requirements that are needed that are associated with the PBL (dress professionally on presentation day, have a signed contract before you begin work on the project, etc., etc.). Yeah, we are suppose to work in conjunction with our group members, but usually only 2 or so people who are in the group do the majority of the work, which sort of sucks. Because of the contract though it binds the other group members to it, so if we wrote something in the contract about firing group members, we are more than free to do that as well.
Oh that sounds super fun! Maybe I can design that website once I actually learn some decent coding next year! Hahaaa. I don't think I could ever major in something like Economics because of all the math gymnastics and statistics involved with it. Math isn't my favorite subject at school, and even though I'm fairly good with it, I don't want to work on that kind of job when I graduate. I've always wanted to go into retail for a summer job next year though, and it's crazy how you can wear basically whatever inventory you want from the store. Sounds great. < 3
Yeah, deadlines for any class really wears me down, haha. I almost always procrastinate on everything the day prior, but I still manage to get an A on it so it's all good! The stress absolutely kills you though, it's just too much sometimes. Thankfully all the PBLs (Project Based Learning) we have are team based, but I always end up doing all the work anyhow. < < An accessory business? That sounds really nice, what type of accessories does it specialize in? :3
Last year I was required to take a Graphic Design class so I'm familiar with programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, and everything. I even placed second in a design contest when we penned our own characters and I was pretty proud of myself.
Because of my major, we are required to keep a sketchbook handy at all times and we have sketchbook assignments every week. This year I'm going to be learning Flash and MAYA so I'm pretty excited about that. My school offers Art as an elective choice but I have no idea if I'm good enough to even begin considering enrolling in that haha. But whoa! 2 AP Art classes. Good for you! I don't think I can handle an Art class like that, I struggled in them at Elementary, haha
It's good to hear that you've found a stable side-job and all. RL commissions and everything. :3.
Awesome! II've never had any of those!
How long have you been drawing anyhow? Did you take any art classes or are you self taught?
I might try for a RL commission...but I've been trying to budget things a lot better lately. I'm glad you already noticed me watching you so that should make things easier when I creep up on your RL slots. xD
