The Past:"Heimdall is the god of light, the son of Odin, The son of nine mothers (variously given as the daughters of Geirrendour the Giant or of Aegir). He was born at the end of the world and raised by the force of the earth and seawater.
He is the watchman of the gods and guards Bifrost, the only entrance to Asgard, the realm of the gods. It is Heimdall's duty to prevent the giants from forcing their way into Asgard. He requires less sleep than a bird and can see a hundred miles around him, by night as well as by day. His hearing is so accurate that no sound escapes him: he can even hear the grass grow or the wool on a sheep's back. At the final conflict of Ragnarok he will kill his age-old enemy, the evil god Loki, but will die himself from his wounds.
As the god Rig ("ruler"), Heimdall created the three races of mankind: the serfs, the peasants, and the warriors."
The Present:
Heimdall is indeed the son of Odin born of nine mothers, but as the Norse Pantheon died at Ragnarok, he is also the only remaining God of that Pantheon in the 20th century... and thus at the Great Game, as representative of his ruined House, he answers to no one.
He is the embodiment of Winter and his attack, Fimbulwinter, is known to be able to freeze entire continents.His other abilities involve the summoning of wolves, crows and great elementals of ice.
For the past centuries and more, Heimdall has been hiding among humans.
His current disguise is as a Librarian.
As a Game Player in the Great Game of Good and Evil, He rarely plays, but when he does, he prefers to strike stealthily, and with moves that disrupt the whole Board.
Such a move is that which landed Djibril with the office of Evil Overlord.
This has also earned him the title of 'Kingmaker'.
As a person, Heimdall is known to be ... fair, just and in general, easy to get along with. He does not get attached too often, but is implacably loyal.
He is intelligent and softspoken, yet blunt.
He does not like messing around or beating around the bush. Rather, he prefers to get to the point.
He enjoys books and reading, and writing, fantasy stories, legends and myths. He enjoys surfing the internet and is known to be most fond of wine.
