My name is Riza Hawkeye. I am a first lieutenant in the Amestris Military and I specialize in marksmanship. Due to the kindness of a younger lieutenant, I now have a dog named Black Hayate (Black Hurricane) who lives with me in my apartment.

I work under Colonel Roy Mustang, the well known Flame Alchemist and see to it that he completes his work on time. The colonel tends to stray from his duties... smilies/icon_stare.gif

It seems people assume I shoot at everything that angers me, but this is untrue. I rarely pull the trigger unless it is required. I've never once fired at the colonel, despite the rumors, and I've shot at my dog only once for training purposes. (Needless to say, he is well behaved now.) I keep my emotions under control at all times. There was one incident, in which, I was led to believe that my commander had been killed and I lost control, but soon after, I was reprimanded and realized my fault in believing the enemy.

In all honesty, I do not enjoy the military. I am simply a soldier to protect the colonel with my life. He's the reason I joined and the reason I'm so very serious. Someone must be.

I am Second Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye. I am a sniper for the 3rd Division Night Fire team. We have one Alchemist, Major Roy Mustang, and our division specializes in night attacks. Every day, my comrades are dying... we must end this war soon.
